The quite numerous not so positive reviews made us a bit doubtful whether we should book this hotel. In the end we did and after our stay we can say that some of the negative reviews are also true in our eyes.
The cleanliness of the rooms is really not very good. The carpet of our room was covered with stains, crumbs and other small things. This did not change during the entire stay. The housekeeping vacuum cleaner had no use with us. There were also other corners throughout the room that simply needed to be cleaned. The bed linen and towels are not white, but rather light gray with stains. The bathroom, on the other hand, was relatively clean. The room was also cleaned every day more or less. Despite the definite hygiene deficiencies, it was possible to live well in the spacious room.
We had a room facing the street. Accordingly, it was noisy.
The internet was not equally good throughout the hotel. In the lobby it was always very good. In our room, unfortunately, quite often as good as not to use.
The breakfast was very good in our eyes. Primarily typical of the country, but also with other things like toast, pastries, salad, egg dishes.
The pool is also huge and we actually had it mostly to ourselves.
The staff was very friendly throughout.
Otherwise, there is actually nothing around the hotel. A few small local stores where you can buy something to drink or small snacks. There were also a few local stalls and small restaurants. But otherwise you are always dependent on a drivable vehicle.
For a stop before continuing on the island or before leaving the island again with the ferry, this hotel is well suited. For more almost not.

For now, its my favorite hotel in Tanjung Pinang, even do the hotel felt old-fashioned. I checked in in the middle of night and it was a little long. I booked from other app & requested a smoking room but the reception didn't pay attention bout it, but its ok. I enjoyed the room, but it less noisy from outside. The tv program was outdated (prever to netf** or any) but its ok. Pool was so-so, also breakfast. It need more choices of meals. Shoutouts to Riska who served us excellent on breakfast. We ordered room service, a steak should be medium rare but they served it welldone. Please improve it. Will coming back again

Staying in Aston Tanjung Pinang was planned a long time ago until my family had a chance to spend a short holiday in Tanjung Pinang. We came from Batam island with high expectations about the hotel. This hotel located in the center of Tanjung Pinang. An easy access hotel to several business centres.
I booked the superior room through Traveloka, but thank you to the front desk staff who upgraded our room to deluxe.
We stayed in room 231 just next to restaurant and located at the same floor to the front desk. Room.was quite spacious, equipped with couch, working table, wardrobe, water kettle, complimentary coffee-tea, mineral water and toiletries.
The mattress was comfortable and soft to make sure we had a perfect nap.
All staffs were nice, kind and polite. Good to see from the security, receptionist, Fnb staff, cleaning service staff etc. The smile and greetings from all staff we met makes us feel like home. We had a chance to swim in the pool which has a small water boom playground for the kids (the changing room was clean)
By staying in this hotel, we had a chance to enter Trans Studio Garden which is located just next door and enjoy some rides for free in 3 hours. We can reach Lohan temple in 10 minutes from the hotel.
The best moment we had was during breakfast. The food was various and all of the service staff kept refilling and topping up the buffet. Thank you for the hospitality during breakfast.
The only thing which was lacking is the internet connection. The Wifi was not strong, so we only use our own mobile data for the internet service.
Overall, we had a perfect staycation package in Aston Tanjung Pinang. Thank you to all staff and we wish the best for the business.

I would like to complaint on ur staff reception Budi. Usually when I reserve a room it only cost me abt 550 thousands rupiah but this time I was charge 800 thousands rupiah + 150 thousands for early check in.. After checked in, I noticed that there was a package cost abt 475 thousands Rupiah including Trans Studio tickets. I clarified with him and asking him for help whether he can do something about it but unfortunately he told there is nothing can be done. The room price for 550 thousands Rupiah is for standard room. Honestly I felt he should offer the standard room price. My requirements was only to have LAN connection port and I was wondering too on previous stay was charged 550 thousands rupiah. My room was only ready with LAN port connection around 11.30 AM and still being charge abt 150 thousands rupiah for early check in.
His services towards with the guest are not even up to standard even on my previous stay. Honestly he need to buck up on his services and show more emphatic towards his guest.
With all this unpleasant experience I have decided to stay at CK Hotel or Comfort Hotel on my next reservation.

I stayed for 1 night. I check in at 12PM with the one and only friendly staff named Roro. She is helpful. I enter my room, room was so dirty, full of dust, and a lot of crumbs. I request in my booking for highest room but they prepare the lowest even 1st floor. Im okay about that. The day after i take my breakfast a bit late at 9am. Food was good and tasty, the chef (i didnt remember her name, she wear black hijab) is friendly and helpful too. But i sit for almost 1 hour there. There is 3 service staffs, 1 lady and 1 guy with green uniform and 1 lady with blue uniform. They really didnt do service at all. I have some dirty plate in my table and they re busy talking in bar counter while i see some table and guest re still in their restaurant. Really bad attitude and really poor service, even when the white jacket chef arrive, they still talking in the front and ignore their guest. This is my firstime got this kind of service. Even when u cant provide the nice building or tasty food, u have u put and maintance ur service in the top level even the highest. But thanks for Roro and hijab chef, u guys really have world class service.

It such a pleasant to stay here, the staff was so helpful and friendly in providing the information. I got a free upgrade to the premier room, have a spacious room with a pool view. The location is very strategic because close to the airport. The facilities are complete such as a restaurant, gym, kids corner and trans convention centre. Trans Studio is really near the hotel, so the hotel is really kids friendly and fun to bring our kids there.

We came on a weekday. The first thing is, I want to say thank you to simple bed deco for my wife’s birthday. That’s nice. But, maybe you and your team have a miscommunication about my slice cake, Because you haven't delivered the cake yet, but that’s not a big problem we still having fun.
Than I want to say thank you to all of the staff. They are friendly and helpful, especially Mr Edwin n Ms Icen swimming pool staff they are really care with my family.
I like your restaurant as well. There is a lot of choices, Even for breakfast. We really like that.

Still one of my favorite hotel in Tanjungpinang, the friendly staff, I stayed in room 225 with nice poolside view, had excellent tasty breakfast. There were few things need to be improved such as the room curtain, Vitrase and carpet however the room was clean and great amenities. The best thing is now the hotel is just attached with Trans Studio where my family can having more fun in Tanjungpinang.

There is a shuttle service from the hotel to the Tanjung pinang ferry terminal (bintan pura) that starts from a price of 90,000 per trip. You may wish to check with the hotel direct.

Hi Alan, I didn't really find many attractions around Aston hotel except some local roadside food. Most of the water sports I know off in Bintan are around Lagoi - the northern part of the island which is a good 50 - 60 kms from Aston hotel. The Tanjung Pinang ferry terminal is about 12 kms from the hotel.
I booked this ferry from the website URL:sindoferry. you have to email to them at this email address reservationist at aston tan jung pinang.
