There are many places around this hostel that offer better value for half the price. I could hardly believe how much they dare to ask for sleeping on a bunk deep down in a cellar. Most probably an effect of being mentioned in the LP guide that quite a few travelers use as a kind of bible. For an alternative...

Check this place out if traveling through Yazd Iran. Very charming, good meals, included, in the heart of the best sights and ancient footpaths you will ever experience. Great day trips available at the front desk at very reasonable prices. Good shopping of traditional foods, carpets, trinkets, snacks, arts and crafts, all within walking distance. See huge old mosques also...

We stayed here for 3 nights in room 5. It was very comfortable and warm. The shower was nice and hot and the beds clean and firm. The breakfast is great with a wide choice of Iranian traditional foods. Most rooms are off the courtyard so if you do go to bed early, you hear people's conversations until they leave...

I stayed a few nights there (actually its sister hotel called Orient Hotel which is not far from Silk Road Hotel with its automatically arrangement by the hotel owner) . The hotel itself is nice. It's a traditional layout of the architecture in Yazd, with a large yard and pool in the middle of the hotel. The room is essential...

It's like travelling in time. When you enter a smell of lunch buffet sucks you in the building. Owner has beed for a while in India, so you have a good combination of Persian/Iranian and Indian cousine. You enter rooms form the inner yard and even if they are traditional, they are equiped with standard bathrooms.

Ali is the owner of this hotel and he is the friendliest guy ever I met in Iran. I tried the camel stew in this hotel and its taste is awesome. Take a bit of time to visit this hotel if you are around the city center.

Silk road hotel is a traditional Iranian house. It is located a stone's throw away from Masjid Jamek. (About 10 minutes walk). We stayed in a clean & comfortable double bed room. We enjoyed the tasty Iranian food served at the hotel especially the Iranian buffet breakfast. This hotel also provides tours to several places. We enjoyed our half day...
