We had stayed at the original camp on our last visit, but decided to try the new camp nearby, which was under construction on our last trip. Because Tsavo is generally very warm the appeal of a place with a swimming pool is enormous. It was just perfect, and the infinity pool overlooking miles of stunning Africa was a wonderful...

Four years ago I visited the original camp at Ithumba, which was magical but this trip we stayed in the new Hill Camp. Impossible to describe except to say unique, awesome, unforgettable & obviously built with love. Wonderful place to relax with the added bonus of spending time with orphaned elephants & especially one of my sponsor elephants. This camp...

Myself and a friend stayed 3 nights June 1-3, 2016. It was over 6 hour drive from Nairobi and Ithumba is very much in remote area. The small staff of Isack, Njage, and Kimwere (Benton too briefly) provided wonderful service and delicious meals from the basic groceries we brought with us. The tents are not fancy but nice with a...

Two years ago I visited Ithumba Camp, and loved every minute of it. They were building Ithumba Hill, and when I returned this year, I opted to stay there. Every inch of this camp is beautiful - from rooms, to pool, to main area, to art, to food, to staff. Don't miss it.

I have just returned from another stay at Ithumba visiting my foster orphans, the ex-orphans and wild elephant herds. I first reviewed this camp in September 2013 and cannot really improve on that review...it is truly unique & magical experience and one I shall return to again and again. Each time I leave Ithumba and the elephants I leave a...

Our third visit to Ithumba camp and it just gets better. Note, this is not really a place for a quick visit. Like any Safari trip some days can be quiet and those on a short stay may miss a great but rare moment. Linger longer and be amazed. We had to come back to check on our "little ones"...

Beverly P’s review dated September 29, 2013 is spot on. This place is magical. Highly recommended. It’s a fabulous place for large extended families. I would only add that there is the option to fly in if you want to avoid the poor roads.

Read all the previous reviews, including mine, and decide whether several days in this remote, dusty and to me magical place is for you. Ithumba is for elephant lovers, of course, but also for those who appreciate peace, quiet and truly getting away from it all. Staff is excellent. Tents are amazingly comfortable. Dik diks are omnipresent. Birdlife is impressive....

I have supported the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for sometime and help out in the UK office, so I wanted to visit the Nairobi Orphanage, and both the Ithumba & Voi Units, to see first hand what a wonderful job is being done in Kenya to save and protect the elephants. This was a truly wonderful experience, you really are...

I am at a lose for words..... Such an amazing experience to be amongst the baby Orphan Elephants being taught to go wild....will add that the wild elephants presence is there as well. Just the most special place to go..... Very spiritual time with them.... The Camp is wonderful and very comfortable and the staff certainly know how to look...
