I also agree the rooms need a makeover, but it was clean enough and we slept well.we also thought the food was quite good, Our safari guide wanted us to change lodges because of recent complaints but i'm so glad we didn't. the views for us were worth the stay, and the underground tunnel watching the elephants so close, i'd...

This lodge while in a lovely spot, is very dated, we saw lots of elephants but that was it, we had already met these elephants on safari, so it was quite a let down. The rooms were very very basic, and while I had read all sorts of great experiences of folks in different lodges, I hadn't checked this one...

We had a fantastic time at the voi lodge when we stayed there. I do agree strongly that the rooms are dated and in need of a deep clean but we didnt go there for the rooms we went to see the wildlife and we were not disappointed, we saw the lot and our guide was fantastic. The food was...

Great view across the plains, and if this is the only place you stay at on safari then you'll probably think it's fine. However, it was noticeably the worst hotel out of the 6 or so we stayed at on our 7 night safari on honeymoon. All the lodges vary but this one is very dated. The building is like...

We've never been to such an amazing place! Unfortunately we only had one night here but its one night that I'll never forget. We were picked up early by Daktari our driver from Voyager Hotel. The journey was so interesting, even the main road where we saw people walking to what seemed no where. It took about 2 hours and...

Before our arrival at Voi Lodge on the 16th August we had read in the ‘Rough Guide’ that the accommodation was ‘1970’s kitsch’. More like it hadn't been cleaned properly since the 1970’s. As a teacher I have stayed in 2* accommodation on many school trips, but I have never stayed anywhere this filthy. The room stunk of urine and...

The Voi Safari lodge is set on the side of a steep slope high above a vast plain - the views are really stunning. There is a waterhole which has a "hide" from which you can enjoy close up views of the wildlife. The hotel has very attractive but very steeply sloping gardens which have their own animal residents -...

June 2008. I have just returned from Kenya again and this time went to Tsavo East. Sayed at the Voi Safari Lodge. Tsavo East is about a 3.5HRS drive from Mombasa and very easy to get to along the main Mombasa/Nairobie highyway.I travel on an independant basis so booked direct with the Lodge. Last year I stayed at Tsavo West,NGULIA...

We stayed in the Voi Safari Lodge in December 2007. Ok so the rooms require a lot of attention, probably the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in actually! But do you come on safari for the room?? Any how, the views of this amazing place more than make up for it. Food was nice, grounds are nice but...
