Room 508 Toilet bowl was choked and tank pipe was turned off at check-in. When we turn it on to refill the tank, it leaks badly (Probably the reason why it was turned off). Digital air-con control does not work. Even when the control is turned off, air-con still runs. 'Open Sliding door automatically turns off air-con' does not work. Balcony celling is peeling. Balcony is missing a chair. Refrigerator is dirty and peeling. Floor is dirty, feet will be chalky grey if you walk barefoot. (They probably did not mop the floor. Almost every single gym equipment behind the petting farm, is either damaged or rusted. There is only 2 restaurant now, Fresh and Chinoise. They both have terrible waiting time (More than 1 hour wait time for food). Probably due to severely under-staffed and employees who lacked training and experience. Only an Indian man who's not on uniform and another individual who wears black shirt serving in Chinose seems to have a sense of urgency and knows what they are doing. There was even a miscommunication where the counter staff at 'Fresh' said that 'Chinoise' was closed while it's not. Some of the a la carte selection in Chinoise is not bad. But having only 'Bok Choy' for vegetables in a Chinese restaurant is pathetic. Set B menu is unimpressive. A la carte in Fresh is edible. Buffet is not up to standard. It's nothing like the pictures in other reviews. Maybe that was its former glory which does not exist anymore. They also don't sell cakes anymore.…
Poor service, understaffed, rundown rooms/toilets, stained bath tubs / poor water pressure in shower, yellowish tap water, u name it, it has everything that a poorly maintained hotel characteristics has, this hotel is showing all the signs. The management please spend some money for refurbishment or sell the hotel to a bigger hotel chain group. Such a shame to a hotel which started well pre pandemic era. Not to mention the terrible service in the coffee house/Chinois restaurant where we have to wait 1 hour to be served and yet getting the wrong order placed.
Thistle hotel is now a far cry compared to what it used to be. The rooms and hotel is in need of refurbishment. The toilets and room were not cleaned well, there was dirt on the toilet seat, the coffee maker was not cleaned, full of ants, the pool bar didnt have any one manning it, even the selection for breakfast was very basic, Such a beautiful hotel, and a pity that it now lacks the grandeur it once had
We have a major audit at one of the institution in Port Dickson. So all 12 of us and the high rank auditor stayed there, and we book 3 set of DIY BBQ + 3 server for dinner. I have also booked a sea facing room for the auditor and others in deluxe room. 1. Upon checking in, the staff gave the wrong room to the auditor! And when I called, they blamed it on me saying it says so in the document. Helloo? I've checked multiple times and the document is not wrong! Lucky for us they managed to solve the issue and gave both colleague and auditor got the sea facing rooms. 2i. BBQ DINNER WAS A DISASTER! - Yes I booked 3 DIY BBQ set but I also booked 3 server! Which means theres supposed to be 3 person doing the BBQ for us! But they gave us only 1 server! When I ask for another 2 server, they said they didnt have enough staff. 2ii. BBQ DINNER WAS A DISASTER! - I booked 3 DIY BBQ but they only provide 1 BBQ pit. And somehow the server only use half of it?? 2iii. BBQ DINNER WAS A DISASTER! - Because of both problem 2i and 2ii, the server only finished cooking at around 10.30pm. 2iv. BBQ DINNER WAS A DISASTER! - they didn't serve what they put in the menu - I have to request for salad and watermelon and it arrived 2 hours late! 2v. To help solve the problem, I asked the server to start cooking the food that are faster to cook first... But the server ignore my suggestion and keep on cooking one type until finished. Imagine waiting for lamb.... when you can be cooking the corn 1st? 2vi. The menu - Why have LAMB and provide plastic spoon and nowhere to wash out hands? 3. Almost all staff treat us like like we annoy them there. One of them is the lady that work at the small lobby cafe on 1st April 2022 (around 12pm). I asked her whats inside the coconut pie. And she said its empty. Then I asked for more explanation as what does she meant by empty. She annoyingly answer "its empty!" and "how can I know whats inside?" The front desk counter are not that friendly too. You can consider this hotel if you have more money to NOT TAKE THE DELUXE ROOM and NOT FOR BIG EVENTS! And as for now, the kids play room is close. The only reason why its 2 star is because of the location - access to the beach…
I am not sure how google rated this hotel as a 5-star hotel. I suppose the hotel *was* a great hotel, but with its old facilities and all, it shouldn't be a 5-star hotel anymore. I mean, they still use aerial TV, and I paid for RM300 something for a night. The service was bad. I tried to call them to confirm my reservation before my arrival. Tried it multiple times for two days but no one answered. We booked a king-bed room. But we got two super single beds joined together. The room smell was unpleasant. Worst of all, the room was not soundproofed at all. People jumping from upstairs, people walking outside, and so on can all be heard. Breakfast was mediocre. My complaint may be reflected by the price I paid. I don't think I'd be this frustrated if the price was only RM100.
