Just returned from a lovely holiday in Malaysia and Australia whilst travelling through Malaysia we stopped in a coastal town of Port Dickson. We came upon this budget hotel and thought we give it ago. Very clean and comfortable it's convenient for the new sea front to walk along and eat at some sea front restaurants. You can walk into the town and get a bus in to the next town Seremban to get a train into KL. We met one of the owners and thought how nice to see him working along side his employees. You can get a local cab to one of the beaches in PD. Value for money as we usually stay in four and five star hotel we were quite impressed.

So I decided to go for a one-night getaway from KL. Found the Clover Hotel near the Waterfront, probably the newest and most "happening" part of PD. The location of this hotel is very good, walking distance to the Waterfront and the Store (which unfortunately is a sad sad shopping complex) and a night fun fair (though I think that is seasonal). It does not however, face the beach and is found at one of the shop-lots there. If you want a beach facing hotel, try the Waterfront Hotel. The beach in front of the Waterfront is not for swimming, for that you will need to go find another.

For the stay, what I liked: plenty of free carpark and free WiFi. But I had two major problems. The first might not be totally Clover Hotel's fault, but during the night a bunch of hooligan kids on motorbikes were very rowdy downstairs and that lasted for at least half an hour. Secondly, the walls are simply so thin that in the night, when a neighbour opened his door and fumbled on the room keys, we thought he was opening our door and freaked out my wife and daughter.

There is no lift so walking up the staircase is a must. As for the TV, there are 5 Astro channels including Nat Geo and HBO but the TV was placed in such an angle that we cannot snuggle on the bed to watch it.

We had no problems with the cleanliness. However, the guy who cleans the rooms looked a little creepy as we saw him sitting on the staircase loafing around.

So all in all, I would say that the hotel is ok. If you don't mind the irritations I wrote about, then the price, location and free wifi/parking makes this hotel a good budget choice.

I’ve been to this hotel a few years ago whilst in Port Dickson so thought I’d stay again. We had a few rooms this time and again can say how clean this hotel is. It’s convenient for the local town and has restaurants and a large shopping supermarket nearby. Staff friendly and again I met one of the owners as they like to be on hand.

The bed with spring and poked my back. Very small room. Shocked both of us. No space our our baby to crawl around, just on bed. The fragrance of the bed sheet was very strong. Not ok for my sensitive nose.

The price was high for this room, not sure is it due to CNY. Totally not worth!

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Oh, another is ample of parking lot since the shops there are not operated yet.

I have been reviewing many hotels during my visits to here and there. But i have never ever given any of the hotels a 1 star. Minimum at least a 2 star. But for this particular one, i am not even able to give it a 2 star.

Value for RM ? Definately NOT !

Pros : Its near to a few fast food and The Store (departmental store).

Cons : Everything else

Will i be staying there again ? Definately NO! NO!

The room is very small, not enough space for hanging clothes.
Room was clean.
Extremely bad sound proof, could even hear clearly when the next door open and close their room door.
Free parking space.
AC place facing right to the bed which is the worst location and cold air blow right on us the whole night, not very comfortable.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was the smallest that I have ever stayed in. There was nowhere to put our bags. Soap was not provided (because we were given a tiny shower gel). The water did not drain properly from the shower so the bathroom floor was always water logged. We pre-booked but were told we would have to change rooms on the second day as they were closing the top floor. This did not happen eventually but we spent the whole day thinking we would have to pack our things and move when we got back later. There are a lot of hotels in PD, so I will not be returning to this one. The only good thing was the location.

Room Tip: I do not know whether there are any bigger rooms but the room we had was too small.

This is a no frills hotel, so there is no breakfast provided. There are some eateries like Starbucks, McDonalds and other local joints within walking distance.
