Detailed Reviews
We had an excellent week at ABC! The family is very friendly and helpful, as well as all the staff, the chalets are clean & well located and you can take a swim just in front, on the lovely, natural beach. We had two chalets next to each other, a cat who loved to boss us around, air conditioning you could set at will and ate there for most if our meals, when the restaurant was open. There are other eating options along the coast, but ABC’s fish BBQ in the evening is the best, their fried rice better than most and we loved their fresh lime tea! Their trips were also excellent, we took the all day snorkling trip and the afternoon boat trip, and it was great fun, where you see colourful fishes, turtles and sharks. We got friendly with other people staying there and got help from Zahrul to get the ferry when leaving. All in all, we are super happy with this great week of relaxing, licking the sun, swimming and eating good food. ABC is for simple pleasures and you should be ready for sand, sun and great people.

We stayed at ABC chalets for four nights in June 2023. The chalet we stayed in opened out right by the beach which was bliss. The food at the restaurant was great, they had a bbq every night with the catch of the day, and the lunch menu was delicious. Azmina was really friendly and helpful, getting us set up with a snorkelling trip, and arranging airport transfers. It's a stunning location on a beautiful island, well placed to explore Air Batang and around. It's possible to walk to Tekek (or rent bikes / mopeds) and there are lots of places to eat and snorkel/dive nearby, plus there are jungle walks if you're feeling energetic (the walk to Monkey Beach is fun). It's not luxury so may not be for everyone, but was everything we needed for a relaxing, nature-filled few days.

what a great week we had here. all around the perfect conclusion after a month trip with konders (7und10) we had a bungalow with air conditioning which we highly recommend. the bathroom is typical and simple. The entire crew is outspoken, friendly and helpful (thanks for helping out with the ferry). the best food in all of Air Batang, especially the BBQ in the evening is delicious. we booked 3 snorkeling trips through the accommodation, which were also great for me as a diver. The jungle tour including the wild Cameleon and the Raflesia flower was particularly great. Thank you Ari Thanks to the whole ABC crew for your warm hospitality. we would love to come back. greetings from Switzerland

We ate here dying our stay on Tioman. The staff are helpful, friendly and smiley. The restaurant is run by a family. Their fish dishes are amazing. I had fish sambal and also the garlic fried fish. They also do an excellent BBQ. The rice and noodle dishes are equally good and the portions are generous. Good range of juices too.

But if you put that fact out of your mind, this place is just standart. The family who runs the place is nice. And the chalets and the restaurant are ok. but there are a few downsides as well.
For example they don't serve alcohol, which wouldn't be so bad if they just had let me put my beer I bought before in their fridge. The beds are just sooo haard, it is not easy to sleep well on them. Also they make closing hours as they like to.
I reccomend you to bring your own moskito net.
Prices are ok.

This chalet on the end of the beach below the cliff/forest is an idilyc retreat for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. We stayed in a hut on the beach, with nice beds, clean bathrooms, and aircon, all you need really! The food wasnt the best but it was much the same island-wide. Tioman is one of the best snorkeling locations ive ever been to and that was a big draw for us.

We stayed in Bamboo Hill Chalet but went for food to this place.
Location is great.
Staff are friendly.
It’s a family run place.
Food is very average but better than the nearby eateries.
They can make the get up a bit more tidy.

I just came back from my trip to Tioman yesterday, and I couldn't recommend ABC Chalet & Restaurant more. My partner and I stayed in the Sea View #5 chalet at ABC Chalet & Restaurant. I would highly recommend these sea view chalets! There's nothing like waking up to the sound of the ocean crashing right outside your door. The bungalow itself was cozy and clean, have a nice ensuite bathroom that doesn't get the entire bathroom floor wet (an issue in Malaysia!), had a mini fridge, hot water kettle, A/C and everything you'd need really. The tide does affect your view, so please know this before arriving to Tioman. 9am and 9pm were high tide for us and when the beach in front of the bungalows are at their peaks.
ABC Chalets is run by an incredibly friendly family. They picked us up at the ferry, arranged our Coral Island trip and boat trips to other beaches with a smile. The restaurant is one of the best on the stretch of beach because its relatively cheap, in a convenient location, and consistently delicious. ABC beach in general is good because it has the longest strip of beach, the water is nice, and you can walk/bike to Tekek and the next beaches over (without having to pay for a boat which comes out to Rm60 roundtrip for one person).
*Warning to all future Tioman beach dwellers: My bf & I were wondering why people weren't lying down in the sand when we first arrived here. We learned the hard way when 2 days later, we began to itch like crazy due to sandfly bites. The flies are tiny & black with white wings. You can't feel them biting you most of the time. The bites are similar to bedbug bites, and if you've ever experienced either of these bites, they are itchy- reallllly itchy. Please bring calamine lotion and bug spray. Also, I think I got the bulk of my bites from Salang, and the southern tip of ABC beach (I would consider ABC chalet on the northern end). Just don't lie down on the sand for too long!

We chose this place because it's a family run business and we always love to support local people. And actually it exceeded all our expectations.
We came there pretty late and besides a really nice guy who picked us up from the pier, we were welcomed by a beautiful sunset just in front of our balcony.
Our room was clean, cozy and located directly next to the beach.
When there is low tide, the beach is a bit rocky but still amazing <3 The whole atmosphere here is great and relaxing and the restaurant serves good ad affordable food.
We can highly recommend this place for a stay at Tioman Island, you will definitely feel like home here.

I'd heard that Tioman was expensive so I was pleasantly surprised to be able to share a twin room with a friend for 80 ringgit (£15ish) total. Food was reasonably priced, better than most places on the island, and very tasty. They were very accommodating when I asked for some non fried food (sick of fried rice/noodles after months in Asia!) and I had boiled chicken and rice each day with a different sauce and some salad. Staff were always super friendly and made sure I'd had enough and didn't want to order more before closing. I can recommend the BBQ (I had the delicious squid) although this is around 3x more expensive than other options on the menu at 35 ringgit or £6-7ish - so still totally worth it! I cannot say enough just how nice the brownie was and I had one every day - except for the last night when I had two because I knew I wasn't going to have it again. Overall I'd say I am super pleased I ended up at this place and would recommend highly. Thank you so much for your hospitality and when I return I will stay and eat here again!
