We loved the Barat Tioman located right on the beachfront of Juara Beach, we opted for a beachfront room which was very nice, clean and perfectly located. The hotel is located on the other side of the island to the main ferry stop and there are cars available to take the trip, which is approximately 40 minutes up and over the island, make sure you take advantage of booking a car prior to leaving for the island. We took the Cataferry from Mersing. This was also great, the ferry ran to time and there were allocated seats. All in all everything went very smoothly. Our room was ready when we arrived and check in and check out ran seamlessly. We have stayed on the other side of the island before but in all honesty we much preferred the Juara Beach side. It is quieter but there are plenty of little restaurants/cafe within easy walking distance of the hotel. The ocean water was so clean, we swam everyday and loved it. Would highly recommend this place.

The Barat Resort in Tioman Island is one of the most divine places for your long dreamed vacation. Spacey rooms, excellent hygiene, very very kind staff, various activities make this resort a one-stop-shop for your stay in Juara. Should you need anything extra, say a yoga mat, a guitar to play on sunset or just a ride to Tekek, the friendly receptionists and managers are there to satisfy your demands.
This is one of the best resorts in Tioman, wonderfully situated at the beautiful Juara bay and it is highly recommended for a great relaxing holiday.

Wanted to look for macro shots in Juara and picked Barat since Amigo dive center was still closed.
With limited ferry services after the lifting of MCO, crowds flooded the ferry. While most wore masks on the way to Tioman, many didn't on the way back and the ferry was full with no SOP observed or enforced. When the more expensive ferry restarts, I suggest you pay a bit more for their upscale seats if you worry about SOP.
The beach at Barat was indeed more private and clean. Unfortunately it was the beginning of Monsoon so it was off limits to swimmers most days.
The hotel itself is reasonably new. The rooms were OK but had aged. I could not open the balcony door, the fridge was switched off and smelled bad and pressured hot water was unpredictable. If not for these I would have given them another star.
Did not use the pool as we were diving most days. We were given more than enough food vouchers and the food was generous, mostly tasty and cheap for such a resort, so no you do not need to walk to other restaurants. The drive to / from the resort from Tekek is only 25 minutes and not uncomfortable. Remember to buy your incoming and outgoing duty free when you arrive as some ferries depart very early, before the shops open.
Diving and viz was poor due to the monsoon. Not their fault.

We arrived at Tekek jetty and the driver was there ready to fetch us and approximately took about 30mins to reach the resort. The room setting with one toilet, and one bathroom and it is quite convenient if staying with more than 2pax.
During our stay, the area of the resort was stink and we discovered it was due to the dustbin located at the center of the resort. The management shall look into it by relocating or to clean up the bin frequently as to provide fresh air. There are also many mosquitoes at the area so remember to bring mosquitoes repellent. The first night of stay, we encountered the power trip at least twice. Believe the power capacity of the resort is insufficient to support during the peak season. The room facilities such as air-cond, toilet bowl tank, and etc shall do periodic maintenance as we encounter issue on it.
As for the food, it was served with buffet style and consider not bad. However, we were having the holiday during the peak period and it was crowded with a lot of tourist and causing the dining area overcrowded, and not enough of food to serve. We have told the staff and they required time to prepare for the additional portion. The management shall staggered the dining timing for the guest so that we do not have to que for so long and waiting for the food to be served.
The seaside activities such as jet ski, banana boat, parachute and etc doesn't provide in this resort. Only kayak, beach volleyball, beach soccer.
We went for snorkeling and spent about half a day for it. Overall for snorkeling was a great experience.

When supply is insufficient, we switch over to our generators and this takes less than 5 seconds. With regards to the dustbin and room items which require our attention, please let us know during your stay so that we can take action immediately. Hotel is located at Juara on the east side of Tioman. We took a ferry to Tekek and have to cross a hill with a 4WD around 30min to get to this side of the island. It has a sprawling sandy beach right in front of the hotel and also a swimming pool. Thoroughly enjoyed staying here for 2 nights! I believe most rooms are equipped with two queen sized beds which can sleep up to 4 persons! Hence it can be quite value for money 😀. Food served is also of reasonable price, quality and portion. There are many small eateries nearby as well along the whole stretch of the road. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed my stay at the resort. The staff was extremely friendly Food is good at the restaurant with reasonable price, there are also some local cafes nearby. Clean and comfortable room with nice view. Beautiful beach, great place to take stunning beach photos! Lots of activities can be done too. starting from booking, Jane had assist me well when i had issue with the ferry thank you to Jane that suggest me which room to book for me Jane such a hospitable person which explain to me one by one about the resort thank you to Nurul & Anggun that assist me via phone when i asked few things about the hotel facilities.
check in process was smooth by Jane & Nurul, this trip is very excitement when we need to ride Ford Ranger all the way from Tekek Jetty
no word can be described how good the taste of food in the restaurant the voucher is too much sampai tak tahu nak order apa hehehe we had a good chinese cuisine dinner on the first day and im in love with the sweet & sour fish thank you to captain James for always assist me & do the courtesy check every time my family visit the restaurant James was very hospitable person, thanks also to Aishah that assist me in the restaurant.

Stay from 16 - 19 September 2022 during the Malaysia Day public holiday. Originally I booked Standard Chalet room package inclusive of meals and snorkeling trip for 2 persons but being upgraded to Standard Family Chalet upon checked in for free. Thanks for that.
The room is spacious and complete with basic amenities such as aircon, fan, water heater, hair dryer and TV. However, there is no channel available on the TV. Wi-Fi is slow / weak. Menu offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner is limited and their staffs take time to refill it. They should be alert with the number of guests for the day so that they can prepare enough foods. Need to inform / remind the staffs several times to refill the food.
Really enjoy the snorkeling trip and having so much. It's worth for the price. They bring to several snorkeling points and lastly relax at the beach before going back.
They should add some entertainment / activities during the night at the beach to attract more tourist as there is nothing much to do at night. There is TV in the room but no channel, the Wi-Fi is slow..so what else to do?

The welcome I got when I arrived at the resort was a double charge for the transportation from the jetty to the resort (which by the way costs more than the ferry ride itself- ridiculous). I told them that no where did it say there was a 2 person minimum, but they made me pay up (I also had to pay double at the end of my stay to get back to the jetty) When I got to my room, the wifi didn’t work- I had to go to the cafe to use it. It said when I booked wifi in every room which is most definitely not the case. There were cockroaches and lizards sharing the room with me, the safe was broken, and the shower choked and overflowed everytime I used it. I’ve stayed In worst places, but it would be nice to know how much I’m paying upfront, and not get whacked with additional fees when I’m already at the reception desk with no other options to go anywhere. At least the snorkelling was good and the food is decent.

Our land transfer prices are stated on our website together with the minimum 2-person requirement and this is a standard price similar to island taxi. The benefit of booking the land transfer ahead of time with us is that our driver will wait for your at Tekek Jetty and stop for duty free shopping before making your way to our resort. Also stated on our website is that WiFi is available at our restaurant and lobby as the current infrastructure provided by Unifi is not strong enough. Hi odawnz, Jody is right. No strong WiFi here due to remote location and limited infrastructure. Taxi price and our land transfer price are the same. The difference is that if you book our land transfer, our driver will wait for you at Tekek Jetty. Hope this is helpful.

Hi razweenr, yes it is possible as there is a ferry to Tioman once a day everyday in Dec. We are open all year round as it is the surfing season now. We do get rain but 50 : 50 chance of rain versus the sun.
