This property was wonderful - the owner Wi has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. He also has a snorkeling center on location that you can book a tour directly with him and it was some of the best snorkeling that we have ever done - it was our 9yr old's first time snorkeling and Wi was just spectacular with her, making sure she was up front and seeing everything! His business partner Liang was super helpful with our needs. A common room was offered to make tea and watch movies or play games. Outside showers and foot taps were available for rinsing off sand and sea water. Lockers and a key box were available to keep items dry while swimming or snorkeling. 3 nights and not one bug in our room. Air-conditioning was great. Wi Fi available and worked. They were truly super hosts that made our stay exceptional!

Host were very nice and friendly.Their room is very comfortable to stay and all facilities are fully complete.Host treat people very well and always being helpfull we have any enqirly.Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Mr Wee and Mr Liang.

Snorkeling The unbeatable snorkeling experience was denitely the highlight of the trip.
It was totally different with the normal snorkeling I tried in redang and langkawi. I did not know snorkeling could be so much fun and amazing before I met Liang and Wee. They taught us some technics of snorkeling, ensure all of us able to catch up. They have knowledge on where to look for marine life and what is the best and exciting way to discover the sea by snorkeling even let us to have a taste of free dive.
Room & Facilities The minsu located at Kampung Genting which has lesser choice on food and 45mins walking distance from the commercial area. This is more to homestay style with cozy and tidy room. They are very thoughtful as most of the things we need were available either in the room or in the minsu like hair dryer, drinking water, kettle, washing machine and etc. There are also a common area for us to chill while enjoying the sea view, a playroom equipped with karaoke, broad games, movies and a small pantry where we can get hot water and some snacks(chargeable), a laundry area for us to wash and dry the clothes.
I would recommend to have at least 3nights there to relax and discover Tioman better. Best choice to discover Tioman with X-Rector, will definitely visit again!

Highly recommend this place to family and group of friends. The location is away from the main tourist village in the island which I like it very much because it is more peaceful and less crowded. The design and atmosphere of homestay is standout from the rest of the guesthouse because owners put their "heart" to build this homestay and I feel really comfortable to stay here.
Owners of the homestay Liang and Wee are very friendly, hospitable and professional. They are very knowledgeable on snorkeling and they will give briefing and some basic training to those new to snorkeling before bring them to the sea. So the visitors can be better prepared before going into deeper sea. It is very much different from other service providers who just bring you to the sea and ask you to jump into water. They will point to us sharks, turtles, clown fish and other interesting sea creatures. They are good free diver too.
Apart from that, Tioman Island is underrated and worth a visit, water is clear and there's a lot of corals and fishes.

The 2 hosts are very friendly, accommodating and helpful. They gave lots of helpful advice on snorkeling and they are always keeping an eye on us, making sure that we are relaxed and comfortable throughout the whole snorkeling session.
In terms of the minsu, they have put a lot of thoughts and effort to ensure that the entire area is comfortable, clean and well maintained for our comfort

Welcoming us by a full body sanitisation during this pandemic, already shown how detailed their care towards all their customer. Carefully coach each of us about snorkeling with many basic details where I'm still didn't realised even though it's not my first snorkeling. Snorkeling through paths that are challenging and experience are one of the kind. They make sure everyone seen what should be seen at each spot. Professional and friendly. Nice accommodation, clean and comfortable. Everything here worth it. X Rector, way beyond X-pectation!

The minsu is very nice, our guest room.. play room and every space of the minsu is clean and neat☺️ We also enjoy the snorkelling trip very much😍 A lots of fishes like sharks, Angry fish, clown fish and much more. The corals Are very colourful and beautiful too! I hope to have chance to have a stay at X Rector Minsu again ☺️

We arrived to this lovely place with Mr Liang greeting us at the Kampung Genting jetty and he took our bags. The place is a small lovely hotel-very clean, and well maintained . Their star attraction is their snorkeling activity package which is excellent. I m the sort of person that is very afraid of water and the sea and I cant swim. My previous snorkeling experience elsewhere was bad but over here, Mr Liang and Wee taught us step by step on usage, safety and how to relax and enjoy it. The actual day of snorkeling, we were taken in a boat with another family and they pointed out where, what to see and accompanied us underwater and filming us with his go pro for our sweet memories. Even both my kids enjoyed it very much. I would really recommend this place. Even if you didnt manage to get a room , you can still sign up for the snorkelling package. Believe me, it may seem a bit more expensive than other places, but their care and attention to details, personal coaching and guidance to snorkelling is totally worth every cent! As for covid safety and precaution, they followed the SOP guidelines by the health ministry very seriously, including contactless check in and even sanitising each of us with a mist full body spray during check in. Every equipment is washed well thoroughly and very very clean.

The stay at X-rector Minsu (Snorkelling Center) Tioman for me is a great experience with great location, great scenary and extra-ordinary guide on Snorkeling by Wee and Liang. The Minsu also have a near-by family operated restaurant with good and authentic taste. Great trip with a group of friends (5 to 8 pax)

During reservation, Mr. Wee (via WhatsApp) was accommodative to all my questions and helped us understand what to expect during our stay. Upon arrival, Mr.Liang & his supporting staff (Mr. Amirul) was the person who took care of our stay the whole time. Both of them also took care of our snorkeling training, jungle trekking (to the neighbouring village - Kampung Paya & the beautiful natural rockfalls), rental of snorkeling equipment, planning for each of our meals at local restaurants, local motorbike transport, snorkeling guide to beautiful island spots (to see turtles, stingrays, hundreds of beautiful fishes, corals, white sandy private beach etc.) and up until sending us up to the ferry on our last day!
The snorkeling training was important for our kids and ourselves (who were not regular island travelers) to enjoy the snorkeling outing. I appreciated his emphasis on safety.
We were at room 2 , which is a room with 2 queen size beds, a nice, clean & functional air-conditioned room for 2 adults & 2 kids (9yo & 5yo). The bedroom & attached bathroom was also clean. I liked the common lounge (which is an open deck with lounge chairs where you could access to the common refrigerator with beer, wines & soft drinks) and the playroom (which has a dry kitchen, TV , a dart board , board games and guitars)! Kids loved the playroom!
Food wise, the local food around Kampung Genting was great for us. Kids & adults loved the Roti Canai from a local store for breakfast, and lunch was more of being practical as we also did cup noodles (since time for snorkeling was a priority) ;) and dinner was always good at the Chinese seafood restaurant. Tip: bring plenty of snacks for kids to quench their hunger after all the outdoor activity!
The best part of the experience in this stay was the outdoor activities like jungle trekking & actual snorkeling (at a different island) & snorkeling training on a "natural shallow swimming pool" which was a 20 meter walking distance (from hotel) where the whole family trained on a crystal clear shallow water body and we could swim out to see many coral fishes, puffer fish etc. This is a quiet village too. Perfect for a family getaway.
