Stayed here for 1 night because people I met told me to go here for the tours they offer. And people are right, the tours to Kinabatang river they offer are amazing and they are very helpful in arranging the tour perfectly to your preference. The staff of the hostel is very nice and as said, very helpful!! I liked...

I am only sign up to this page to write this review: When backpacking for some time, after you have seen a lot and been to many different places, there is this sudden urge to stay somewhere relaxed that does not give you more impressions but rather some quiet moments to process. For me, Sandakan was exactly that. I was...

Zu and Za (the Hosts) were so amazing and welcoming! The place felt very clean and well maintained. It has a relaxed and comfortable vibe which makes it feel very homely. The free breakfast included an array of Zu's favourite fruits along with coffee, tea and toast with all the jams you can imagine! The backpackers is right in the...

Za and Zu are two great people and good hosts! They run a very clean, cosy and relaxed kind of backpackers hostel. Movie nights whenever you want, tons of fresh fruit included for the breakfast and a environmental friendly approach make this hostel a great stay in Sandakan. You can also book wildlife trips in the Kinabatangan area with the...

The owners are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is close to the shopping malls and right on the seaside. The views are great and there is a roof top terrace to spend some time on. The only problem , more of an issue with the nature of the city of sandakan is that parking...

I'm a local Malaysian from West Malaysia. Zul and Za are excellent hosts. They are passionate about the hostel, about the wellbeing of their guests and about Borneo. What I loved most about them is that they are not just there to take in the cash from our stay (like most backpackers hostels do), but it's also about giving their...

Stayed here for only one night. The place itself is artsy and the owners are helpful. The rooftop lounge is really great! The rooms are simple but for the price out it is great. Near some good restaurants and bars. The booking.com info is wrong however and there is no cafe or hairdresser in the building so just be aware...

Nice hostel in the mainstreet of Sandakan with lovely chill rooftop! Clean facilities, nice staff and breakfast with fruits :-) and if you like painting or you're bored, you're free to paint something on the walls. And they have the best hostel owners! Za and Zu thank you!

This hostel is done with heart and passion. The owner couple is putting a lot of effort in this place. You can clearly see that they are passionate about what they are doing. At first you will see the beautiful artwork everywhere, very impressive! When you check in, you soon realise how hospitable they are and how important it is...
