Our trip to Gemia Island. Date: 22.06 – 25.06.2016 We drove to the Marang Jetty from Kuala Lumpur. Starting in KL at ~8:45 we just made it in time for the 13:00 ferry. The next ferry, as far as I know, would have left at 15:00 but it was also not 100% clear to me how fixed these times were,...

We stayed here the last three nights of our holiday, and I can tell you: they were one of the best! Although the resort itself is getting older, the food is very good, the staff very friendly and helpfull and the underwaterworld is amazing! And even if you don't like to see the fishes when being in the water, you...

Fantastic place for some peace and tranquility. The hotel is a bit old, would say that is has lost its prime but complemented by friendly staff and fantastic view. Perfect for travellers who want some quiet time enjoying the sea view and spend the day loitering around white sandy beach...

This is the most affordable private island resort you can find in Malaysia. Most of the villas are on stilts, allowing you to have an unobstructed ocean view and access to the sea breeze and sounds of ocean waves. The villas are tired from the beating of monsoon gale and storm from October to February every year but it is...

The resort located on a very small island, just beside the bigger Kapas island. However, because it is the only resort on the small island, it is very private. The beach is small but exclusive to resort guess only, so not too crowded. Food is tasty, standard hotel price. Very clean. Water activities such as kayak, snorkeling.

I've been to this resort for few times. The best thing about this resort is that I can have all the peace and quiet that I need. It is not suitable for travellers who are looking for fun and excitement as they do not have many water activities. As for me, this is the best place to hide out from...

This is not the luxurious island that you will find in Langkawi. The beach is very small and rocky. The turtle sanctuary is actually small and it seems that it is not funded by any organization. I commend the efforts of the resort though in trying to protect the turtles. The rooms and bathrooms are very basic. The bathroom needs...

Didn't know what to expect at this little offshore place. Rolled the dice and came out on top! Cute, charming accommodations. Very old school / old world dining situation.... assigned seating with hand written place cards. Old Motown records were playing most nights and it added this wonderful summer camp feel to the whole experience. Nice little beach out front...

We drove 5 hours from Klang, Selangor to get to Marang Jetti. Plenty of parking spaces and managed to leave the car infront of Surai link, the recommended ferry transfer. The people there were expecting us. Parking was RM7 per day. Had lunch and was taken to the resort which took around 10 minutes in a very very fast and...

We were a largish party who spent 3 nights in Gem in August. The island is relatively easy to get to via Marang, especially via the new East Coast Expressway from KL. The resort has a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere as it is 'private' and it is the only hotel on Gem island. The atmosphere in the dining room was...
