Like a farytale beach. It's pure magic to be there. With clear water so you can see both small sharks, stingrays, turtles and more. 10 stars for the beach and the surondings. All staff are very freindly but the cleaning of the room is poor during our stay and the food was no more then a 3 out of 5.

Perhentian island resort didn’t let us down, there were mixed reviews so thought it may be average but all changes from the time we arrived. We were group of 40 pax and hence lot of coordination was needed. Thanks to Mr.llham Faisal who managed our booking and arrangements, he was awesome. Especially during booking have asked him various questions and he replied and provided us all needed clarification. He even recommended us options so we can plan better. Thank you for that Since we are group, they had boats arranged as per our arrival and person In Jetty point took care of us and helped us to reach the resort. Check in was smooth and reception handling was also good. We have got rooms allotted in sea view and garden view(still have sea view) and were perfect. Sea rooms had extra space and looked big. Garden view rooms are bit small and compact, bedding provided in garden view was so small so if you have extra person then definitely extra mattress is needed. Resort had a beautiful beach and clean beach with nice lay back set up. They have arranged 2 snorkeling trips in our package and it was good. They have dive center which we didn’t explore. Buffet was above average , it’s not about the taste it is time we need to wait for getting the food from counter. Always it would have been queued up or counter is empty, definently could see understaff since all the staff were in kitchen busy in refilling and no one in resturant. Egg counter in breakfast is nightmare , expect most of them will order eggs there should be multiple counter or single counter with multiple pans - but it was only one pan and person making it doesn’t have time to smile or acknowledge. This should need definite improvement. Having said that barbecue diner was very good , but we need time to wait and get the barbecue due to high demand. Definitely not to be missed. On faculties, resort was good and there are people to take care or fix if issues reported. One of our room had Aircon cut at night 11 pm and people came to fix it with in minutes . Housekeeping was done all three days and it was nice to see the cleaned room. Complimentary water is provided in room and water can be refilled in restaurant all day . Resort had pretty good mobile signal as well with 4g. We all enjoyed our stay of 3 nights and 4 days in the resort. Definitely recommend for the price and facility. If below can be considered it will be 5 star 1. Adequate Staff in restaurants 2. Few furnitures looks old which can be replaced.

Definitely not worth the price!! Worst resort I ever been in Perhentian Island!! Their housekeeping is dishonest! They stole my Nike sneaker fm my room. After I realise, I complain to the reception & they said they will check for me. And they return to me the next morning, and claimed that they found it at the porter place??!! Ridiculous!!!! I wear it all the way fm KL to my room, and change it to sandal before I go to the beach, and they claimed that they found it at the porter place?????!!! WTxxxx Do I need to keep my all my belongings n shoes in the safe next time? I dunno what else to say, as they all seems not well trained, keep pushing to others. And their restaurant cannot handle the customer load, not enough seat, no food refill, those who can’t get the seat will need to eat plain meal without dish!! Definitely not worth the price that I paid!! The resort nearby have better service n room.

Review of restaurant only Big restaurant that can accommodate large groups of people. We had lunch and found it average. There are enough options on the menu to choose from, including some western ones. Restaurant was under staffed but the waitress was friendly. The overall venue looks nice but has some signs that maintenance is due. No issues with temperature though - enough shade and fans! View from the restaurant is not amazing as it is not very close to the beach… not that this is a hard requirement because after your meal you can simply go to the beach and enjoy. Top tip - do NOT do a snorkeling trip to swim with turtles. It’s like 10 people 1 turtle being desperately chased. If you are a fine swimmer just go from the beach, enjoy some ALONE time with the turtle and go back. Respect nature.

Overall it was a pleasurable stay and experience. The reception was good and pleasant at arrival, and the management of our land and sea travel was handled by them well too. The condition of the chalets were a bit dated (as pointed out by some other patrons previously) but not a seal breaker and the rooms were clean and comfortable with daily cleaning - with a beautiful, white sandy beach nearby, you're not going to spend much time in the room anyway. The bathroom is clean but has an unusual smell - TIP: bring a spray freshener if you cannot handle that. The breakfast has a good spread of local food, salads, cereals, and bread; also an "egg station". Food at the restaurant is OK; for the few days we were there, we ended up eating at other hotels' restaurants for variety. TIPS: bring a Flashlight for walking in the night. PIR doesn't serve alcohol. But some of the other hotels do so you can walk there if you need some. IMHO, the BIGGEST plus points with PIR are: 1. The private beach access (with corals just off the beach) 2. The price (considering the private beach access)

First and most important: Our total cash was stolen out of the safe. We had two double rooms and after the money was stolen out of the first safe, the thiefs tried to open the other safe a few days later (but weren't successful this time). We noticed that after coming back from a snorkeling trip the safe was blocked due to failed attempts of entering the pin code. Most likely the theft took place during our first snorkeling trip, so we highly recommend taking your valuables with you. We brought it up to the management, they started investigations, but didn't succeed in clarifying the situation. Disappointingly we weren't offered any kind of redemption at all. Apart from that, the beach was awesome and perfect for our two little children. The rooms and daily buffet were ok.

Our room is just right in front of the white sandy beach! With the closed proximity, we could spent time morning or evening or night enjoying the nature and let the sound of the waves accompany good night sleep. There are many squirrels and monkeys around the area wondering and looking for food... and they meant no harm. For our 3 days 2 nite stay, we pre-booked and paid upfront for full meal plan throughout the stay then we realized there were restaurants within walking distance. One more good point to make is the transport between mainland to the Island was well managed by the hotel

Nice beach, big land area but sadly under utilised. The resort's location has so much potential but sadly the place is not well built nor maintained. Noted the sewage discharge from the far end of the resort into a small stream that feeds directly into the sea. Bad smell from this end. I don't know what the regulations are for discharge of sewage into the sea are but the resulting algae blooms kill the coral.

PIR has beautiful beaches and clear sea water. the food is also delicious and there are many options.Room are just comfortable. staff very helpful and always smile especialy from the restaurant & receptionist.pool clean. only the resort area has dry leaves as in ever swept. there is a new construction underway in the starting area to the PIR. looks unattractive with such seemingly irregular conditions. overall, we enjoy staying at PIR & will come again!
