We enjoyed our sty at Olaza's in Huaraz. The staff are helpful and pleasant, which comes through our language barriers. Breakfast is super up on the roof top patio, which offers fabulous views of the Cordillera Blanca on clear days. We took advantage of the on-staff taxi driver to get to two trailheads. They also have mountain bike tours available...

We stayed here with my family and it is a great little place for the price. No frills but the beds are comfy, there's plenty of hot water and breakfast is delicious. The view from the 4th floor terrace/ sitting room is great. The only drawback was there was only one tv in the whole place and we were hoping...

We were treated by a friend to a night here as we have been travelling for 10 months and she was visiting us. It was a pleasure to be in such a lovely clean environment with a hot powerful modern shower. I particularly love the communal area and terrace. The breakfast was also good, freshly baked bread and scrambled eggs...

If you are visiting Huaraz this is definitely your spot to stay. My brothers and I stayed here for a few days on either end of our trek in the Cordillera Blanca. Olaza's was incredibly clean, had incredibly comfortable beds, and a delicious full breakfast every morning (fresh squeezed OJ, hot good coffee in a french press, fresh bread, and...

It was already the second time that I stayed in Olaza's and I would certainly do it again. Rooms are simple and a bit dark, as they have windows only towards the inner yard, but clean and functional, and the reliably hot shower is worth to be mentioned. The highlights of the place are the common room and the terasse...

A nice quiet and clean room, hot showers. Really great for Peru. Friendly staff. You can order extra food for the included breakfast. Beautiful cheerful courtyard. We are at 10,000 feet in Huarez so our first day was rough. It was easy to relax here.

All rooms seem to be pretty much the same (we stayed twice) - basic but very clean and comfy beds. Hot water good. Breakfast nice on the terrace, and the communal area upstairs is lovely with the open fire. Bit of noise from the internal courtyard where windows face because of the echo but it did go silent by around...

Compared to other places we had stayed on our trip, this one definitely ranks near the top. The rooms were clean, the bed was huge and very comfortable, private bathroom, breakfast was fantastic, and the two women running it were so nice. Great price also, we were able to bargain for a slightly lower price since we stayed for almost...

We stayed here overall for 6 nights, around our Santa Cruz trek and visit to Chavín. Everything was great. We stayed in room 7 and then room 9 (both matrimonial rooms). The rooms were large, really clean, had very comfortable beds and duvets and lovely photos of the surrounding area on the walls. Private bathrooms were equally clean and had...

“Number 7 is great as the sun pours through the windows in the morning, and you won't ever have anyone walking past your front door/window. All rooms will be disturbed by selfish feckers making noise at 4am, so please be considerate. Earplugs are always recommended in any hostel.”

“Rooms 7, 8 or 9 are the best. Otherwise people will walk by your room and be able to see unless you have the blinds closed. Not the biggest deal, but a bit awkward.”
