I didn't choose the Pines, I met a very friendly local on the bus from Banaue who strongly recommended it. So....it's very centrally located and my private room was clean and enormous. Great wifi. The karaoke in the hotel bar was fun, kind of, 4 hours was plenty. The only real problem I had was the NOISE. Cockerels crowing throughout...

Coming from a 12-hour bus ride from Manila where we took a midnight bus to Baguio and a morning standard bus to Bontoc, our first choice for the guesthouse was fully booked right before we arrived so we walked and scoured the town center for any decent place to stay and we ended up going to Bontoc's first lodge--the Pines...

Rooms are clean, staff speaks English, cold beer in fridge, wifi works fast, no noise from the street, public market just next door. This guest house was in fact the first into which I looked. The room and the guesthouse itself have everything, but at a minimum. Price (300 pesos) corresponded to offered...

For $5 a night you can already have a comfortable place to stay in Bontoc where it is near the town center, the souvenir shops, restaurants, the Bontoc Museum and other nice place to visit. One room can fit 4-5 persons and they charge per head. You share the bathroom and the toilet with the other guests so you might...
