The Gimanhala is a comfortable hotel with decent sized rooms, reasonable bathrooms and a great pool and pleasant bar/restaurant. Service was reasonably good. The room bathrooms were OK, but did suffer from a slight odour (drains?). Beds comfortable. No view form the rooms near reception as these all opened onto a old style corridor. No wifi in the room. The...

Initially this place has a bit of a motel feel about it but it is actually a very small hotel with a lovely pool and garden area out the back and large restaurant. The rooms are very outdated but I understand that they are about to renovate. The bathrooms definitely needed renovation. Good basic place to stay though. Staff extremely...

Nice mid range hotel with clean rooms. Although it does not offer you luxurious stay, it is a good place to stay back. Food served was good and affordable. The best part is helpful and cheerful staff.

We stopped for lunch and it was not value for money. Restaurant staff is moody & not friendly at all. The selection is very poor & it is one of the worst meals we ever had. When you request for cutlery the staff will take ages to bring it for you. May be its a bad day for them however...

Only stayed here for a couple of nights when visiting Sigiraya - wouldn't be rushing back. There are lots better choices and Dambulla is a bit of a dive! Rooms were quite basic, pool you wouldn't swim in, and right next to the main road, so it's quite noisy.

Nice mid range hotel, limited but good quality menu, good clean and regularly cleaned rooms, with excellent friendly and helpful staff, had a minor medical problem during my stay, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating couldn't fault them.

We liked this little hotel as the service was very friendly (it was the only place where I tried to tip the porter for showing us our rooms but he refused it as he hadn't brought up our bags!), courteous and the food for kids & Westerners in general (their main customer base) was good. We had 2 rooms 207...

Well actually this hotel has character trying to be chic but not there yet! I personally like old (antique-ish) displays it gives charm to the lobby, walls and stairway but once you go to ur room you'll feel its really old! They have to consider doing a renovation specially the toilet/shower room. Room is big though and the canopy bed...
