We stay at the Amaya resort in Kandalama only one night We had good sleep as environment is fantastic for breast and sleep. Staff is very friendly in all department We had good time at the hotel bar and resturant and food was normal but very much over priced. Incredibly expensive food compare to any other hotel in the area...

A day trip from Kandy through beautiful countryside to an interesting hotel on Dambulla Lake. We were there for the buffet lunch which came highly recommended. How right they were. A great display of food to suit the western and eastern palate. We tried a bit of both. Excellent service by an attentive staff also made an enjoyable day out

The setting, the service - truly 5*! If you're visiting the cultural triangle, you must stay here. The service was excellent. The staff are a credit (however the bar staff should learn how to open a bottle of bubbles properly and make sure a gin and tonic comes with ice!) but these were minor observations! The sunsets from the infinity...

Iconic hotel lives up to expectations. Excellent service, from the tailor who helped fix a broken bag strap, to the friendly and efficient restaurant staff. Plenty of activities to do - the highlight was helping to wash the hotel's two elephants in Kandalama lake!

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing. Stunning views from our room, large jacuzzi, monkeys greeting you in the morning & a view of sigiriya rock. What a way to start the day. The hotel design is perfect for the location and grand views of the region from all areas. Three swimming pools and multiple restaurants. Food...

We stayed 2 nights at this beautiful hotel and we experienced an excellent service from all the staff. They went out of their way to look after our needs. Hotel itself is beautiful and gives excellent views across the region (specially when you look from the 07th floor).

Driving up to the hotel I had mixed feelings about the design but having spent 2 nights I realise how well it works in its environment. The service was efficient, the food reasonably good with a wide selection at buffet breakfast and dinner although there is an a la carte restaurant which we didn't try. The rooms are clean and...

My husband and I stayed at Kandalama Lake resort for only two nights, however we wish we had booked it longer. The second we drove up to the entrance, I was stunned that such a place existed on this planet. It was truly a paradise in the middle of the jungle and the perfect start to our honeymoon. If the...

The Bawa designed hotel is a beautiful example of modernist architecture done in sympathy with the local environment. It's worth booking a stay just to enjoy the details of the design and the flow of spaces. Unfortunately, the hotel service does not measure up to the architecture. The staff are friendly but, for the most part, barely competent. Getting the...

I love Geoffrey Bawa hotels. Stunning place in a breathtaking location. Sustainability and blending in with nature are key. The amazing wet edge pool is a highlight. Watch out for monkeys though! Delicious Sri Lankan fare. Architecture not opulence is the focus.
