Let's get the negative out of the way. If you like 5* hotels only then don't bother. If you want to experience the Sri Lankan jungle surrounded by the best staff you will meet in Sri Lanka then this is the place for you. It is not roughing it, it is basic but our rooms had showers, one plug point...

We only spent a day at this eco-lodge, and where very pleased to have done that. It was part ouf our tour of Sri Lanka and we really enjoyed our short stay, the location is superb. They have reached a perfect compromise between nature and comfort. There are 10 different tracks to follow and they give you an opportunity to...

We stayed here for a week to escape the relentless heat and beige of Qatar. We wanted quiet, green and wildlife and weren't disappointed. We stayed in the Upper Lake View room which had a lovely verandah overlooking the trees, and a semi-outdoor shower that we shared with the gecko and frogs. We stayed on a half-board basis and both...

We stayed in the 'Wood Cabin' for 3 nights at the start of May during our travels around Sri Lanka. We travelled from Kandy by bus and were picked up from the bus stop by jeep which transferred us to the eco-lodges. The instruction provided by Polwaththa for getting there were excellent as was communication with them by both phone...

We loved this place! It was very secluded and we were picked up by a jeep which took us to this hideaway in the middle of the forest. It was our honeymoon so they gave us the Upper Lake View cabin which was furthest away from the restaurant. We felt like we were alone in the forest and had amazing...

This was the absolute highlight of an already amazing 10 days in Sri Lanka. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the treehouse lodges and we wished we could have stayed longer! The accommodation was exactly what we wanted. It was clean and well looked after but still felt like you were in a jungle treehouse. The staff could...

We found this lodge as a recommandation. We have booked two nights from home including breakfast and dinner. The owner Nihal organised a pick up for us from Kandy. The drive is about 45 minutes. From the main road to the Lodge is a very interessting experience as it is not really a road. The lodge we had was amazing...

We only stayed 2 nights at the Polwaththa Ecolodges but the whole experience felt much longer! Location: just an hour outside Kandy and it's a completely different world. Beautiful and peaceful jungle setting, lush vegetation around each accommodation and stunning views. Accommodation: they do offer several lodging options (mud huts, lake view lodges etc) with different prices. We opted for...

My daughter and I spent 3 magical nights at the lodge. Upon arrival, after a steep and slightly scary drive up to the lodge, we were greeted with fresh juice and smiling, friendly faces. Our wooden cabin built on stilts and surrounded by magnificent jungle teeming with squirrels, monkeys and bird life, was tastefully and comfortably furnished with all the...
