We stayed here two nights and unfortunately as we were touring around a lot, this was too far out as we were travelling to and from our places to visit about 4-5 hours a day. The building was very English. The staff were fantastic but the manageress didnt seem to hear my answer to her question - did we have... More

Spent 2 nights here and it was set in a fantastic area high in the mountains near Kandy. The food was excellent. Afternoon tea just perfect. The staff all couldn't do enough for you and even had time to play snooker along with me. They are desperate to win so don't expect an easy game. One down side was the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Taylor's Hill for 3 nights in August 2016 and couldn't have loved it more. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the 'hill country'. Taylor's Hill is a lovely colonial style home, now a boutique hotel / guesthouse, idyllically situated amongst tea plantations about an hour's drive from Kandy. It has been... More

Admittedly we arrived after a long journey from Nuwara Eliya but this property suffers from being extremely remote - 29km up a really long windey but surprisingly busy road! It is classed as Kandy but it is far too far away for a daily visit. Having got over the journey, the property itself is very attractive externally and has been... More

Thank you for reviewing us.It is much appreciated that you have said the property is "attractive",the food is "faultless" and that "we gave your children an extra room at no extra cost" However,in return you have submitted a number of complaints, and from our perspective a disappointing ranking given your other praise, which seems to be based on some serious misconceptions.Hopefully the... The place is run by an very engaged female manager who makes sure, that all the staff are equal. We did lovely hiking tour to the... More

If you are looking for a small boutique hotel that is in a very quiet and peaceful location then this is for you. The hotel itself is very individual being the home of James Taylor who statrted the tea trade in Sri Lanka. Dawn, the manageress was very welcoming and friendly as we're all the staff. The hotel has its... More

This is a beautiful estate kind of property wirh a boutique concept. It is situated in the middle of a tea plantation and offers very good tea tasting and plucking excursions. The food, especially the high tea, is wonderful and the house is maintained impeccably. The pool area and tennis courts are real fun and the grounds are almost limitless.... More

This was a pleasure from beginning to end. The service was first rate, the staff fabulous, the food delicious. The little excursion to the top of the mountain to see the factory and plantation was the highlight of our whole visit to Sri Lanka. Little did we know that this would indeed be the highest quality we would experience on... More

My in-laws passed through the tea estates area of Sri Lanka recently and their experience sounded nowhere near as lovely as the one we had at Taylors Hill. The house is unique and has fantastic greenery and hills on all sides, with huge gardens. The room was big with everything you need (no TV for those that would like one).... More
