We stayed at the Kandy House for two nights from 7-9 November 2016. What a wonderful boutique property. We were upgraded to the Peacock Room and this was beautiful - spacious, clean, tidy and a very special place to stay. We had a wonderful Sri Lankan meal whilst staying there on the Sunday night and the next night we ate... More

We stayed two days in Kandy House. Indeed a home experience while on holiday. Excellent smiling warm service by all the staff and manager. Will do anything to make your stay beautiful and sweet like the beauty of the place. We were welcomed with lovely passion fruit cocktail when we arrived . Later showed to our rooms. The manager allowed... More

My favorite nest in Kandy. I just love their excellent personalized service. one of the best colonial boutique properties i have ever stayed in my life. Very romantic. Mendis & Anoma are the icons behind their service. Simply I love this place, even if I stayed 100 times it won't satisfy me.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Kandy House whilst visiting Kandy and the surrounding area. Kandy itself is chaotic, with people, bikes, three-wheelers and buses everywhere, attracted by the city and the famous temple of the tooth relic. The Kandy House, up in the hills outside of Kandy, provides some peace and tranquility. Set amongst beautiful foliage and with... More

We had a lovely stay here. The room was lovely with the mosquito netting over the bed. The pool is lovely in a jungle setting, and a massage on the table overlooking the nearby farm was very relaxing. The restaurant is top notch, little things like home-made jellies at breakfast. My only suggestion is that they install screens in one... More

The two nights we could spend at Kandy House were marvelous. This 200 year old dutch property is stunning, beautifully and with a lot of taste, furbished. Our room was on the second floor, we had our own little veranda and lovely views, overlooking the garden. The food was great, although the choice a bit limited and only western food... More

We stayed at Kandy House for 2 nights. It was one of my favourite hotels during our 3 week stay in Sri Lanka. The house itself is beautiful and the service fantastic. The staff get the mix between attentive and relaxed just perfect. I could not recommend highly enough.

As I was traveling between Sigiriya and Nuwara Eliya, we only had time for a lunch at this truly unique building dating from the beginning of 9th century and constructed in Dutch style. Rooms are great and the whole fusion of architecture, beautiful landscape, large swimming pool make it a perfect spot if you are prepared to spend between $... More

we stayed here for only 2 nights on our trip through Sri Lanka, and without a doubt it was our favourite hotel. Only 9 bedrooms means a quiet, chilled atmosphere. Food was fantastic and gardens are just amazing - bursting with nature in all shapes and sizes ( a rat snake slithered past us at one stage!). Probably not a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kandy House is a unique ancestral manor house (walauwa) providing seclusion and serenity for its guests in a lush, tropical garden setting, close to Kandy. With only 9 bedrooms, this Kandy hotel, aims is to give guests an experience of staying more in a private house than a conventional hotel. Traditional Kandyan architecture has been blended with Bawa-influenced modern, polished titanium cement floors and bathrooms. In the gardens, a stunning infinity pool has been landscaped into the hillside overlooking the rice paddy fields. Delicious European fusion and Sri Lankan cuisine is on offer. Well-placed to spend time to relax as well as explore a broad selection of Sri Lanka's primary destinations in the Cultural Triangle and Tea Country, including the Temple of the Tooth and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. The house can also be booked as a whole for important celebrations with friends, or just for the peace of mind of a group having total privacy away from the public eye. The Kandy House also makes an ideal honeymoon hotel in Sri Lanka, in a quiet peaceful setting, honeymooners can enjoy the infinity pool, private dining, yoga or massages. ... more   less
