Really nice and friendly guest house. As I right this review Layan the hotel manager is playing us traditional Sri Lankan music on his guitar. Not a bad singer - X factor round two or three if lucky that kind of level. Back to the review - I asked for a good view and I was given it. Uninterrupted paddy...

There was no TV in rooms compared to similar rest houses. Hot water was not working and even normal water speed in the bathrooms were very slow. No towels or carpets were available. Food was awful and I suffered a stomach ache after having breakfast. Service was also very poor. I definitely not recommend this for any family trips. A...

Big, clean room and a great estate. Ended up grabbing a few beers and playing guitar with one of the staff. He even played the traditional flute. Good times. And so far, Manel guest house is also the one place I have gotten a satisfying cup of coffee in the morning.

Manel Guest House is located near the centre of Polonnaruwa, but also next to paddy fields. There are older and cheaper rooms on the New Town Road frontage, however, I stayed in a new smart building at the back. The rooms in this building are quiet, comfortable and have balconies with views over paddy fields. Breakfasts are good, as are...

We enjoyed the ruined that are near the hostel with bikes they rent. The landscapes of the hostel are really nice, you can enjoy sunset and starts in a hamak. I...

It is a lovely peaceful setting and very short walk to restaurants, shops and lake. Staff were always smiling and very helpful and nice. The best...

Manel Guest House is a friendly family owned establishment a short distance from the famous ancient city of Polonnaruwa in Sri Lanka. Past the front reception and restaurant area is the main accommodation complex surrounded by lush greenery. The rooms are comfortable and very large. Comfy beds, hot showers, complimentary water, free WIFI, etc. The only problem we had with...

Stayed a night on our way to Eastern Province. Fantastic service and well worth for money . Charge of room is amazingly cheap . It cost less than LKR 2000/- for one night stay with breakfast for two. However the room is without A/c and you don't need A/c at night. For the Dinner we ordered Chicken Kottu and Fried...
