What a tranquil spot from which to explore this section of the Cultural Triangle. The hotel reminded us of the better sort of game park accommodation in South Africa,- spacious dining area and bar beneath thatched roof with the sides open to a swimming pool on one side and the bungalows and gardens to the other. The food was good,...

This is a great base for discovering the jewels of the area. Rooms are well conceived and maintained, with the spacing that gives you a real sense of "retreat" from large hotel options. Restaurant & pool are dominated by a view of the wonderful Sigirya rock, and the massage at the spa was one of the best I have had,...

We stayed in Sigirya Village for two nights and it was a great place to chill out and relax by the pool as well as being very close to Lion Rock. The pool area was lovely and tranquil. The restaurant setting was large and the buffet had amazing selection for both breakfast and dinner. Our room was very basic but...

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of our trip around the cultural triangle. Hotel has bungalows spread around lovely gardens with lots of ponds and fountains. Very convenient for day trips to the various sites. Food OK, buffet available for both breakfast and in the evening.

We spent two delightful nights here. The hotel is at a walkable distance from Sigiriya rock fortress and is nestled amidst thick green cover, with the fortress as the backdrop.Apart from excellent housekeeping, comfortable rooms, my wife became an instant fan of the continental buffet spread. The spa is also highly recommended.

My partner and I spent two weeks at Sigiriya Village, which as we were told numerous times, was a lot longer than most people tend to stay. We wanted to stay somewhere we could go on day trips easily and also enjoy the local surroundings - go and explore on our own rather than just get shipped about to all...

What worked for us: Very good housekeeping. We were in 2 rooms, both connected by a door which helped a lot. We are vegetarians. Restaurant staff took extra care to serve us dinner off the menu which just suited our requirement. Kids had special request for using rest room. Immediately it was met. All staff were very friendly. What did...

From other comments there must be an older section to this hotel and a newer part. We stayed in the newer "wing" (actually attached rooms like a motel - formed in small groupings) and there was absolutely no problem with cleanliness, AC or whatever else people have been grumbling about. The rooms are very nicely decorated, large, and clean. The...

Spent one night over there, really calm and quiet. goes well with the surrounding area. Good breakfast and very close to the Rock, which is the main attraction. Hard to get to to the hotel by public transport though.,

This hotel illustrates well many of the problems we found with hotels in Sri Lanka. Expensive, poor value for money, and they know it but shrug it of saying "this is the standard you get here".We paid $200 AUD a night for this hotel. Initially they gave us a room that was from the 70's - stained, no hot water,...
