You got to love the this place, majestic from a far, beautifully decorated and well-maintained, with a stunning view outside. We did not stay for the night but decided to spend an afternoon to enjoy their famous afternoon tea. Food and services were a huge disappointment, but it is not overly pricey and it is still worth while to pay...

I stayed here with my family for one night. The room is tastefully decorated although kitschy as. The food at dinner was not if the best quality but it was a fun night nevertheless. The hotel does not have an elevator so be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor if travelling with disabled or elderly family...

It is a lovely place to have afternoon tea. The interior and exterior of the whole place was planned with very detailed English furnishings, fittings and everything old English. We dropped by around noon, and was told that lunch and tea menu can be serve. We needn't have a reservation. The serve set lunch, hi tea set and there is...

Great high tea place which offers exquisite cakes, tarts and tea/ coffee for NT550 (including service charge). In order to enter the compound, you can either go for the high tea to experience this European culture or stay in the hotel. However, do note that for high tea, you can only explore limited areas of the hotel compound.

I love the high tea set for twd 500 which is worth very cent, considering that staying 1 night cost abt usd400 a night. I felt that I have time travelled to old England to have afternoon tea. A great wet weather plan too.

Spectacular mountain views, I was tricked into feeling like I was in Northern Europe. We had a delightful and affordable vegan meal. Beverages were included with the salad, bread, soup, entree, and dessert. The staff was friendly. A must-go!

Vegetarian options inside of the beautiful manor. Friendly service, serve yourself drink options. The food was delicious. We had salad with sesame dressing, corn chowder, grilled portobello mushrooms and bamboo with rice or "lasagna" which is actually fettuccini, and an agar jelly with fruits and berries for dessert. The meal lasted about an hour.

Visited the Old English Manor for afternoon tea on a weekday. Prices were quite steep at NT550 per person, given the quality of food served. The pastries were not even heated up, which I would have thought would be a given especially in such a posh restaurant. The food was really a massive disappointment - a pity since the service...

We booked and paid for a room at The Old England for 10/06/16 - 10/07/16 and a room at the Lalu for 10/7 - 10/8 (all via Agoda), based on recommendations from friends and TripAdvisor reviews. As luck would have it, my wife's visa to Taiwan expired a few weeks ago and we didn't discover this until we were at...

The view from our suite are the mountaintops of Nantou and low-lying clouds-- no big wonder because the hotel rests about 2500meters above sea level. It is inarguable that the accommodations are not cheap; however, it must be said that service is exceptional, amenities and provisions are generous, space is premium, lay-out and furnishings are tasteful. Husband and I could...
