As a solo traveller I often find it difficult to find accommodation without a surcharge. Heather didn't hesitate to accomodate the situation. Heather or her daughter Ava were always on hand if I had a query and if they were going into town would offer a lift. Otherwise it's only a $3.00 taxi ride. Always ask first what they charge... Hello, My girlfriend and I visited Monkey Tree in August of 2016 and have nothing but good things to say about it. If you like having your own independent apartment-style dwelling, then this is the place for you (there's no room service, etc.; you have your own kitchen that you stock, etc.). If you want a luxurious all inclusive deal... More

We were there back in May and loved the beauty and serenity of the place. We would sit on the veranda every morning listening and watching the howler monkeys. All the foliage on the property attracts all kinds of birds. Especially hummingbirds. Cant thank Heather and her daughter enough for their hospitality. We loved it soooo much we have booked... More

We recently stayed two weeks at Monkey Tree. Heather and her daughter Ava were fantastic hosts. The capital was clean and well prepared when we arrived. Heather took the time to go over everything. Once we settled in it was amazing. Waking in the morning to the sounds of a tropical jungle, birds and were everywhere in the trees. The... More

Rented Casita 2. Loved it! Felt like we were in the center of nature, surrounded by beauty. Porch is screened in so you can spend hours on the porch relaxing on the daybed enjoying the view and the birds without bugs eating you. Bed was comfortable, shower was good, kitchen had basics which worked well for breakfast and packing lunches... More

My family and I stayed at Monkey Tree Bocas at the end of April. The owner, Heather did not have the casitas ready when we arrived and seemed to be confused about the actual arrival date, although the dates were confirmed in several emails. The refrigerators were unplugged in one of the casitas and there was no butane for the... More

The first morning at The Monkey Tree I was awoken by a crashing in the trees accentuated by the odd low harrumphing sound of the male Howler monkey. His family had come to hang out (literally) and forage in the canopy above my cabana. With a fresh coffee in one hand and a fresh fruit sunday in the other, I... More

We stayed in Casita 2 for four days and Monkey Tree was the highlight of our trip. We had a cool breeze in the morning and the evening, plus we were close enough to the beach to hear the waves at night. There was an amazing amount of bird life to view from the screened in porch. We fell in... More

My husband and I stayed at Monkey Tree Casitas in Casita 2 for one week in December. The casita was wonderful and spacious for just the two of us. The location is great. You are about 10 minutes by cab from Bocas Town. Cabs are plentiful on that road so you can just start walking and flag them down to... More

Myself and my partner stayed in Casita 1 at the end of March 2015. As many have already commented but it is worth saying again; Heather is a very good hostess. She has made sure that the Casita is the perfect mix of nature retreat and creature comforts. You are given a cell phone and access to internet which makes... More
