Not up to the shangri la standard. VERY DIRTY. Hairs in tub and on bed. Things in trash bin. Service was not friendly or helpful. Had the staff come twice to room to fix issues. The temperature in the room was stuck at 24 and would not cool down. No real fixes and no real apologies.
We stayed here for 2 nights on Xmas eve and Xmas day. As we celebrate Xmas it was important for us to have bookings for a special dinner/lunches - we saw they advertised brunches so instantly wanted to reserve. It was a bit of a struggle to get prior reservations without persevering. In the end we got the bookings so could relax before our trip. I would recommend the hotel make it easier to make prior bookings at the restaurants. But other than that the stay was great, the staff at the brunches were fabulous and when we engaged with them they got into the festive spirit and joined in the fun. They were always attending to us and ensuring we were having a good time. The breakfast selection was vast. Buffet style but not bad. The gym was great and much better than most hotels - was big and even had barbells!! What was the highlight was the spa facilities - the jacuzzi, steam and sauna and jet rooms within the men and women changing rooms. We used these twice and it had such a good calming feel to it (this is complimentary to use). Overall lovely luxury experience we had.…
This in my view is the best property in Delhi , the location in Connaught place is most central . The hotel is an upmarket property that will make you happy the minute you walk in . The staff is what makes this establishment so much more than what it is ,nothing is an issue. , they are ever willing to please . You will never be didsapointed .
We stayed twice at this hotel, both times for 2 nights at the beginning and end of our tour. I can easily describe our stay in one word: fantastic. Every member of staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The choice at breakfast was overwhelming and extremely tasty. We had dinner at their restaurants “Tamra” and “Sorrento” and enjoyed afternoon tea at “Mister Chai”. We were not disappointed once. In Tamra there was an extensive and tasty choice at the evening buffet, but everything à la carte was also very well cared for and very tasty. The pastries at Mister Chai were finger licking good and our lunch at their Italian restaurant “Sorrento” was a true culinary delight. I almost forgot: it's a hotel, so the rooms: also here I can not come up with a single negative point. Very neat, very comfortable bed, pleasant shower, premium toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, complimentary water bottles, … everything was there. If I have to say something: the prices at “Sorrento” were on the high side, but because it was so tasty I cannot consider this as a criticism.…
Restaurants in the hotel are delicious. New York prices with a New Delhi location. Rooms are standard for this caliber of hotel. Rooftop lounge and bar is a 3500INR entry fee, but does not serve any drinks except for tea and coffee for 2 hours per day. The staff do not make this clear when paying, and instead only refer to a happy hour which has free drinks. Having stayed in multiple Shangri-La hotels around the world, Eros was my least favourite. When staying in Delhi again, I would recommend Leela Palace over this place.
Awesome property , the best breakfast and dinner . You get the feeling that you on holiday when at the shangri La . Service : The staff make this property and your stay so much more memorable , they go out of their way to please . Food : Exceptional standard , you will be wowed @ breakfast . The best club lounge that u have experienced and buffer dinner . I have used this property for the past 10 years and will not use any other priority while in Delhi :
We booked for 3 nights and we enjoyed every night. The staff were fantastic and were polite and very helpful. They couldn’t do enough for you. We ate at Shang Palace, even though it was slightly expensive the food and service were excellent. I couldn’t fault it. We also ate at Tamara for the buffet and it was all fresh and I couldn’t believe the variety. Breakfast was also at the Tamara and again the choice was good and delicious. Special mentions to Ankush concierge and Harshit at reception. We had a hotel car for a day and the driver Anand was great, advising us where to visit and made sure he dropped us and picked us up in safe places. We drank in the Grappa bar and it had a good vibe and energy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely come back and stay here, location is great, close to India Gate and Connaught Place…
Horrendous. Luggage x ray- not looking for drugs or weapons instead they said they wanted to take a speaker they had seen. Expected me to open suitcase in lobby on front of everyone to give to them. Bathroom grubby, check in took forever. Breakfast horrendous- all fur coat and no knickers. Amazing food stations - none of them staffed so couldn’t use them. Chicken totally undercooked and bright pink. Impossible to get even a coffee. Staff were all generally aloof and unhelpful . A really poor hotel offering and experience. Nothing like a 5 star
Stayed for 3 nights at the Shangri-La a nice 4 star hotel. Upon arrival I found the staff to be wonderful to deal with. They were very kind to upgrade my room and provide late check-out though I did not end up requiring it. The rooms were very well equipped with everything you could need. Very clean, you can tell that the staff took slot of pride in there work. BUT The food.... At all 3 venues that I went to I found it to be over priced, bland and of a quality that you would not expect from a Shangri-La product. First night I tried the Chinese restaurant, it wasn't so much as Chinese but more what frozen foods can we fry up and mark up. Either do it right or don't do it. The room service was very well presented on the second night but left to be desired. It felt like it was ordered from an external provider and brought in. The breakfast buffet at Tamra was not bad, the customer service was exceptional. Some of the food was great, but some was still sub par. Finally upon check out, something I really really did not appreciate, the staff member Roshita, clearly was sick or having a flu and constantly sniffling her nose. During such times where covid is rampant this was a massive red flag, but the worst part is if you are dealing people from all around the world on a daily basis and your NOT wearing a mask. This is something I find to be unacceptable. Especially considering that there were posters and banners throughout the hotel advising patrons to wear a mask. I believe the staff should be leading by example, especially when they are clearly sick. All in all as a first time experience the product can be improved, but for the most part the staff were in general had great customer service, the rooms are very clean and safe. But do yourself a favour, please, eat outside of the hotel. There is no need to pay for over priced food when there are so many amazing restaurants all around Delhi. And my god if your sick, stay at home or at the very least wear a mask!…
This hotel is a beautiful and clean property in heart of New Delhi-- everything is close by, although as a traveller I only would walk in the day as there are a lot of hawkers outside the gates. We paid $40 for a the drive from the airport which was nice since the check in was done in our room and personalized by Sofia. (Leaving we used Uber which was $10 but the $40 cost is standard for 5 stars in India.) The room is very nice with clean bathroom and we were on the 16th floor (but we were told we didn't have Horizon access). The housekeeping was excellent-- Pankaj and Hemalata were so kind and welcoming. Breakfast was okay. I have had better hotel buffets in India. Some days there was not even rice, which is an Asian staple. Also I was going for a 7 AM tour on my first day and asked for a couple of boxes to pack pastries and dry items. Rather than being helpful, the manager said I can't take things due to guests complaining of food poisoning *red flag*. When I said I have a tour, he said I can go to the front desk to request packed food. This was frustrating since in other 5 star hotels I would have just had the help to pack things without all the arguments. Also, they don't give bottled water at breakfast and I paid $5 for a bottle. (After that I took water from my room which housekeeping replaces generously.) I also had to eat at Tamra one night and will leave a separate review. I had trouble contacting the hotel. They have a chat on google enabled but no one replies. A major plus was how the hotel kindly gave me complimentary late check out. This made our travel so much easier. I can't thank Selvina enough for this.…
