Our stay in Fort Sawarda came towards the end of our tour of Northern India with "Go Adventures". After long days travelling in a bus and visiting all the famous sites that make up the "Golden Triangle`' we were delighted to arrive at a place where we could relax and reflect on our experiences whilst also enjoying really great hospitality...

Now I am going to have a mixed review on this place from context that it is in India and its location in a rural village surrounding it. I came here as part of a small tour group, we travelled up from Jaipur 55km away. Down a road and through village we came to this place. It is a pleasant...

There are great rooms at this hotel - as well as some shockers ... Unfortunately I had one of the shockers ... seemed more like a building site. My room was 105 - way at the back up an unmade and unlit path through a side alley (although I was provided with some candles to light my way at night)....

This remote accommodation was a pleasant surprise as since 2010 they have & still working on getting it to a standard that the old heritage fort to the best standard. Rooms are large I had 2 single beds put together which were comfortable, the bathroom was large & the hot water system was hard to work out. Must run the...

This hotel was really fun because of where it was located - in a rural Rajasthani village. The rooms were decent, but the beds were very basic and the sheets didn't feel too clean. The hotel design and setting is excellent, the food was decent. There were many power outages but that is to be expected in rural India. The...

The minute I entered this hotel I said to myself "Oh my God, I am staying at the best exotic Marigold hotel". If you love the movie, you'll love this hotel. It's such a charming mansion converted into a hotel in the middle of a village in Sawarda, 2 hours away from Jaipur. The hotel used to be a fort...

Only one and a half hours from Jaipur. Absolutely rural setting where this old Fort cum place is being renovated by descendants of the original owners . It's now a good mix of old and new. Don't expect luxury but everything is good and of high standard. Food and drinks on the terrace were special. A walk around the village...

Came here as part of tour group, not sure if its possible to travel independently. Amazing old palace/fort that is being renovated and offers a fascinating experience both in and around the fort and the village. The rooms are basic but comfortable, if you are looking for western-style 3* plus please don't sign up for this, but we wanted to...

Arrived here and enjoyed the pleasure of sitting in courtyard drinking Gin and Tonic. Went up to top of fort outside the dining room and children from the village were flying kites. What a lovely sight. They saw us and waved frantically and called out hello . They must have informed some of their friends to do the same as...

We had the pleasure of staying in this family run hotel in November. It a well run if slightly exotic hotel in a little know part of India. The staff are excellent and very helpful, the electricity is somewhat erratic but that adds to the unique experience, if you want experience the Exotic Marigold Hotel in real life this is...
