Khandwa Haveli is a really pretty heritage hotel with bags of character - the building is colonial-style with lots of shady courtyards, antiques and old photographs of Indira Gandhi everywhere! I stayed here with an Intrepid tour and our twin room was big, bright, comfortable and clean. It took us a minute to work out the electrics, particularly the AC...

When we got to this hotel I was just stunned. It was like this old British Residence that you see in movies. There were numerous courtyards and the hallway leading to your room was so reminiscent of the past. The rooms were even furnished with old style furniture. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I had a wonderful time,...

I really liked this place. A lovely colonial style building with high cellings ,very nicely decorated. with lovely shady courtyards and gardens to sit in. The balcony style corridors leading to the bedrooms gave the place an airy and spacious feel. The bedroom and bathroom were big, bright and very clean. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom. I loved old...

The room service is really slow. there is no hot water. there are no basic amenities in room such as sugar, tea bags, lotion, shower gel etc. The towels are very hard in texture. Don't take extra mattress, it is dirty. The only decent thing is food and restaurant staff.

We were travelling as part of a group so this was booked as part of the deal. It was just ok - it is a bit out of town but 150 in a tuk tuk and we had no hassles with drivers no knowing the hotel. It's old - a bit quaint - good wifi but only in reception and...

Apart from the fact that rooms were large and quite clean, this hotel has nothing going for it. It is too far out of town for tourists (200 rupee tuk tuk ride), they charge 400 rupees for wifi access, 100 rupees minimum for internet use (all other hotels that we stayed during our month in India had free wifi). One...

Rooms quite roomy and clean but that's about the only positives of this place. When we arrived the phone and tv were unplugged we asked someone to fix- we were told someone would be sent up immediately. Over the next 36 hours we asked 2 more staff members to assist but to no avail. No TV or phone connection for...

The staff were warm and friendly but their standard of English was not great sometimes. The rooms were clean, the restaurant ok, but it is definitely not walkable to the centre of town. We had an overall pleasant stay.

Alright, this place is good in what it is..A Traditional Rajasthani themed "Haveli", which gives you a feel of how the well-off Rajput families lived back in the day. Not the Plush Kings and Queen's Palaces, nor the inhabitants of the Pink (walled) City dwellers or the Dhaani (villages), but the upper middle Rajput-class (relatives & descendants of the Royalty)....
