Darjeeling - The one land that all men desire to see before eternity dawns on them......... Renowned the world over for its excellent tea gardens and the Himalayan Railways, Darjeeling is thought to be a derivation of ‘Dorjeeling’ meaning the place of Dorje, the mystic and majestic thunderbolt of the Lamais religion. In fact, the famous Buddhist Monastery standing at...

The hotel is pretty good. The Annex building does not provide any view at all but is very cheap compared to the main building. The rooms in the main building provides awesome views of Kanchenjunga. The food is quite good however it does not have much variety. The breakfast provided also does not have much variety. Overall a nice stay....

I visited the place in summer 2016. It was my first visit to this place. I made advance booking a few months back but failed to get any room in main building and satisfied myself with two double rooms in annex building. Room and toilet were clean and so as bed. Dining hall and bar is very nice and spacious....

Stayed with 5 of my friends @ this property. Our period of stay ws 25th to 28th Aug and since it was an off season time, they offered us a good discount on room rates. The rooms were booked well in advance at d SaltLake WBTDC office. Pros: 1. Safety with a pretty big individual campus 2. Location: 5 mins...

I booked a large double bedded room in 2nd floor as I had an extra person and the room was huge. The Kanchenjunga view is awesome from this location. All the rooms in the main building are view rooms. There is a lawn in front of the hotel where you can get a very good view of Kanchenjunga. Food is...

Destination Three decades ago I first visited Darjeeling. From New Jalpaiguri Station, I took a window seat in Toy Train, hauled by a cute baby engine, operated by Darjeeling Himalayan Railway since 1881, and enlisted by UNESCO in World Heritage Site. The charm of the dream journey can never be compared with 3 hours car drive, the only option of...

Very Nicely located. Good Food, though bit expensive (one plate luchi costs Rs.90 excluding tax). Room and Bathrooms are big, but not maintained properly. I will recommend this and will again visit this govt property.

I have been to Darjeeling tourist Lodge a couple of times. The maintenance and the quality of service has deteriorated over the years. Only plus point is the location and the vastness of the property. Being a government property it is situated in one of the best possible places in Darjeeling, just behind mall and close to Darjeeling Gymkhana Club....

A steep walk from Chowrasta will take you there. As well maintained as the other Govt. Tourist Lodges in this district. It's Big but the car parking area is a bit to small. Peaceful surroundings.Quality of the food depends on the cooks mood. The room are spacious. There room service especially the tea service has room for improvement.
