Located in the heart of the city close to shops etc, was a wonderful building, now sadly neglected and run down by the absent owner. A fantastic building in a great location is such a terrible place to stay. Very poor bathroom, very cheap furniture,...More

I used to love the beergarden-like outdoor restaurant at Fairlawn Hotel. It attracted a mixed crowd and offered a laid back and almost historic setting for a cold beer after a long day of work or a shopping tour in the nearby markets. Unfortunately, this...More

This hotel really has charme. Around every corner you can expect something new, all in detail, all adding to one big picture. The Queen is still alive here but got into a nice fusion with the City of Joy itself. Breakfast is great and just...More

We arrived rather exhausted at 9.00 pm at night and shown to a ground floor room which was dirty and claustrophobic as we couldn't open a window. At 6.00 the next morning we were woken up by shouting outside our room which turned out to...More

I have searched booking sites for any dates with rooms available at the Fairlawn. When spot checking, all that I found available was one single room available on one date. Could it really be completely booked more than 6 months in advance? How did you ever get a reservation?

Any insight on Room 5 (upstairs single) I have always been in Room 9 in the past but it is not available. Does it have a window and/or balcony? No doubt, it is small, but any other info would be helpful.
