Great host, nice traditional simple malaysian house. Kept clean and tidy. The location is pretty close to the city although we had trouble finding it initially. Nothing to complain about. Good value for money as well. Will recommend this place to anyone!

We stayed here for a couple of nights and we can really recommend this place. The owners have somehow created a home where you feel like a part of their everyday life. We had to leave because they were fully booked, otherwise we don't know how long time we would have stayed there. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the...

My husband and I own a home inspection company in Phoenix AZ, so I asked the couple who owns Apa Kaba to show me the entire home with its additions etc. Fascinating. Built in 1905, the wife grew up here and they'd owned much more land originally. She'll show you the Dutch influences on the architecture of the home including...

If you want 'the real' Malaysia then you MUST stay here. Wonderful friendly service, family run whom make you feel part of their family. Basic rooms are just that, with shared bathrooms but pride is taken in keeping the home very clean. We stayed with our daughters and we were all part of the loving family. We were lucky enough...

I stayed 3 nights at Apa Kaba when I first arrived in Malaysia back in May. I was in the single room at the end of the corridor. Compact but with a bed, bedside table, desk and enough space for my backpack and myself. The house is nicely decorated, with loads of colours, giving it a general good feel. The...

A very relaxing place to stay although in city centre of Melaka and within walking distance (< 10 min) of the places to visit in Melaka. A good place for a family (me, my wife and our 2.5yo daughter) but also for a backpacker (me and my wife in past days). Breakfast included with unlimited continental breakfast and home made...

The first look did not impress. But the place grows on you. It is homey, and has the easy-going feeling. To give an idea: get yourself a cup of coffee/tea from the thermos anytime, and sit under any of the fruit trees to enjoy the breeze. If you want to go out: Melaka attractions are within walking distance (it's also...

The best thing about the Apa Kaba Guest House is the family who runs the place. One of the owners took us on a tour through Melaka, inviting us to several families for end-of-Ramadan celebrations. Definitely one of our best Malaysia experiences. The rooms are clean and cozy. Of course you can't compare the facilities to a fancy hotel, but...

Maybe a bit difficult to find - not even our cab driver knew the place, but very well worth to stay in. Peaceful atmosphere just a couple of hundred meters from the city core. Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff.

A very nice location : 10 minutes away from the center, but it gives you the unique opportunity of going through a small lovely village... The breakfast was nice (and it was so lovely to have it outside, in the garden), the staff was really caring and helpful. A lovely house with a unique and different style from many other...
