The owners bought 6 colonial shop houses and converted it into one of the best boutique hotel in Melaka with 30 rooms. Hence the name Liu Men (6 doors in Mandarin). Love how they have blended modernity and heritage to offer each guest luxurious comfort, a taste of Peranakan culture with the most welcoming / personalised service for each guest. I booked the standard Hang Tuah room, but if you want a larger room be sure to ask for the corner room for a little more space or go big with the Cheng Ho suites! Room comes with complimentary bars complete with snacks, drinks and water. They also placed 2 pieces of the most delicious pineapple tarts - it was so good we ordered more to take away at RM21 p/box. Bed is comfortable, pillows are fluffy, guaranteeing a good night’s sleep. Complimentary Breakfast is offered for every stay. Not a big spread but be assured of quality and it’s free flow order. We had a choice of Nyonya Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Roti pratha. Went for the laksa which was delicious, satisfying my craving. Coffee is good and you can also have it with traditional biscuits where you can top up as much as you want. They also bake fresh pastries where you can also help yourself. It was a long breakfast for us before we set out for the day. Location is so strategic, being in the heart of Jonker street.. so you can hop out and explore the town and head back to rest a little if you wish. Highly recommend when you are visiting Melaka! And the have a parking lot behind the hotel for guests to use for free.…
Liu Men is a gem in state of Melaka! We were blown away by the service and hotel amenities. We first contacted the hotel directly to make our booking and the response was immediate! Such exemplary service continued throughout our stay despite the fact that hotel only recently opened up after the pandemic! Front office, doormen & waiters/waitresses were sincere and attentive! We had a blast over our short weekend stay! The hotel is brand new! All room were cleaned thoroughly and you cannot find a speck of dust. The breakfast in the hotel is formidable! The spread was amazing and every dish was lovingly prepared. We came to Melaka for food trip but the best of Melaka can be found within this cost cafe❤️ It’s a pity that our trip is so short. We love to be back! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Online booking was seamless with us asking g for some additional requests . It was non peak and they were accommodated. Rooms are superbly appointed tastefully without being i your face This is reflected in finishings of hotel which are not ostentious but sit well as a ho.ely feel. Breakfast.nyonya curry laksa & roti canal . We have family friends who are restaurateurs & we have recommended these traditional meals without hesitation. These culinary doyens have not disowned us yet. The staff who attended to us were warm. Stella , the duty manager should be voted the best Concierge in Malacca. This review is done without the benefit of alcohol Puravalen & family
Spent 3 nights in LiuMen and we loved it! Its location in Jonker is unbeatable - right next to ancient temples, mosques, and great cafes to chill. And private parking facility too. The biggest bonus is their breakfast. The in-house chef came out with one of the best roti-canai and prawn noodle I’ve come across! Well balanced flavor and spiciness. The room however is a bit small compared to others in similar price range.
Was introduced to this gem of a heritage hotel close to Jonker Street and promptly booked a couple of rooms for a 2 night stay, Hang Tuah and Kapitan. It was a cool, peaceful and calm oasis once you stepped in from the hot and busy streets surrounding the hotel. Greeted with cold towels and a refreshing tamarind drink while being attended to by Stella. She was polite and efficient, giving us our keys and sending us on our way after taking note of our breakfast timings, answering our questions and booking a massage for us. The rooms were well appointed. Beds super comfortable with an assortment of pillows to choose from. The bathrooms were old school but beautifully done up. Everything worked and it was very clean. Only downside with both rooms were that there was not much of a view from either one. Wifi reception was strong and fast so great for those who wanted to Netflix or work. Four breakfast options were presented everyday served a la carte and you could have as many options as you like. Service overall was very good, from the front desk, to the rest of the hotel staff and even the cleaning staff were very friendly. The only sore point I had was that my room was filled with the sounds of the loud trishaws as they pedalled around the streets surrounding the hotel with their loud music intruding into the room. Good thing they stopped around 11pm. But if you're an early sleeper, be sure to let the front desk know so that they can assign you a quieter too. I'd come back to stay here again.…
Stayed for one night here, the location is so convenient to walk around jonker street. The staff are all very pleasant & friendly. The room was clean & bed was very comfy. I love the short note left in the room especially when they turn down the room at night with cookies. Breakfast was nice with a personal touch☺️ Highly recommended hotel.
It’s glaringly obvious as to why this hotel ranks number one on TripAdvisor - it’s a perfect choice. The interior/rooms/dining area is very tastefully designed, the service is very polished from the moment one sets foot inside and the location is terrific.
I have never had such a warm welcome at any hotel! The general manager met us and personally welcomed us. We were the first vegan group the hotel ever hosted and what a spectacular job they did! Beautiful breakfast spreads every morning, fresh sourdough bread and spreads. Chinese items one morning including steamed buns and dumplings, salad with a special vegan dressing. And they made the first good soy milk latte I'd had in Malaysia! The hotel is a beautiful restored heritage building, plushly decorated, that is very well located in Old Melaka, an easy walk to most any place you would want to go in the old town area. My room was charming and had every amenity. If ever I am back in Melaka, this is where I will stay!
1st travel out of Singapore after 2.5 years. Wow! Wonderful experience to begin with. It’s the must stay hotel when you are in Melaka. No regrets and full of great IG pictures too. Best for family, best for couples or just with your best buddies.
Perfect stay - from beginning to the end. We only booked one night, but when seeing the room and having the first impression of Melakka, we decided to extend our stay. They made sure we could do that in the same room. Which was great as we had a really nice room on the second floor. Great bed, nice to have some extra items like soda and snacks in the room. When we checked out a taxi was arranged with Grab for us and also paid for in advance. They also made sure that despite some roadclosures for the night market, it did come to the entrance. Breakfast was good, with both Malaysian dishes and bread/cereal options. Plus the building is just amazing and decorated great. Also close to the old center, so the location is perfect too.
