At Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka, guests have called out the commendable pools and family-friendly amenities, though the small bathrooms and towel charges have drawn some criticism. While the hotel's cleanliness generally earns praise, a few guests have encountered housekeeping inconsistencies. Service experiences are predominantly positive, spotlighting the staff's politeness, but are occasionally marred by slow elevators. The spacious rooms are appreciated, yet issues with soundproofing and upkeep are noted. Views on value are divided, with the hotel's central location being a highlight, despite some frustrations over unexpected fees.

I was at this hotel for 1 night on Friday night and my review as follows:

1) Location:
It is connected to The Shore Shopping Mall. However, the mall is kinda dead but luckily there were a few food outlets and a convenience store there. Within walking distance is the melaka river (very nice at night) and at the back of the mall, there were shophouses with 24 hours eateries and 7-11 etc. Not bad overall in terms of location. Parking is free too but seems like everyone can enter and park there due to the mall being a dead mall.

2) Check in & Lobby
Check in was slow, with only 1 staff doing it as the other staff was busy with some queries from another guest. I waited for about 20 minutes or so in the queue to check in. Luckily once I am attended, the process took quite fast. Staff were friendly too. Lobby is just simple, doesnt look grand for a 4 star/5 star hotel.

3) Room 2216
Room was nice, moden and spacious with open balcony overlooking melaka river. Bathroom looking good too with rainshower. Unfortunately, the pillows were too soft and the mattress doesnt feel luxury (maybe because there didnt put a mattress topper like most 4/5 star hotel do i think). The duvet and the material of the bed sheet is just normal. So, yea it was missing that luxury element. And i suspect because the pillows were too soft, I did have sore neck the morning.

4) Pool & Gym
They have an indoor pool just for the hotel but i think the gym is shared with the residence tower. Not sure. It does look nice but i didnt try it.

5) Internet
Speed was a bit slow during my stay. Not sure why.

6) Breakfast
My stay was without breakfast.

Overall, if the rate is not too expensive, i think this Hotel can be a good choice to stay especially with free parking and spacious room. But if you are looking for something luxury, especially if you like your mattress to have that plush feeling etc, then unfortunately you will be disappointed. And hopefully the hotel can invest in better pillows, after all this is a 4 star/5 star hotel i supposed.

Booked a connecting room for myself, my partner and my daughter. Location wise is fine. It's at the heart of Melaka so it's nearby Jonker Walk and other well-known places in Melaka. Out of 2 rooms, 1 of the room was not given a foot towel. When we asked for a towel which was their mistake for not placing one before we checked in, we need to pay RM10 for it, which is pretty ridiculous. The TV has limited channel. One of the room's water heater was not working and they noted but refused to get it fixed or offer another room for us. The breakfast buffet was okay but the menu is the same everyday. Luckily we're there for only 3D2N only. And they ought to place mirror in the room, not just the bathroom. They need to work on the lighting as well because it's quite dark.

Hotel location was excellent. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. However the lady staff at check-in was very rude. And one of the hotel staff working on 13th floor wasn’t wearing mask and we reminded him to keep his mask on at public places. But we saw him multiple times roaming around the corridor without mask. Cleanliness must be a top priority especially during these days and we found lot of stains on carpet, curtains and bad odor was coming from pillows.

We start with good reviews bout the hotel;
1.Good staff-smooth check in & check out, few time we called the housekeeper & concierge , they promptly responded.. the breakfast also good, free parking (no need to verify any ticket).. the pool is big and lots of play areas for kids..
2. Please improve the cleanliness of the room, bathroom, and pool..we can muddy here in the bathroom and pool..
the room carpet also quite smelly like wet carpets, we found there are 2 empty mineral bottles still not cleared from previous occupiers ..
the towels also not properly folded..so im not sure its new or used?

In Melaka, there are too many hotels, if you look in the website, everything is just beautiful, big and clean, but when you check in, you only know, the room is not as beauty as You aspect. Normaly room will be small and the carpet smells. Swiss Garden Melaka is indeed the best and proven in all things. As a head of the family you can relax in peace or go to the Gym because your wife can go shopping and the children can take a bath in the children's play pool as well as the teenagers swimming easily. Easy and secure hotel access and free parking. All family programs can be planned here. Most importantly the hotel perfectly practices SOP covid 19. Another thing about food is not to worry and can dine at the hotel or look at surounding that requires only walking distance to choose your favourite food. Your "Great Vacation Begins Here"

1) Requested 1 extra towel and the hotel wanted money for it. Given that my booking already stated the number of guests with me, this should have been provided. Making things worst, Housekeeping staff insisted that I pay money at the check-in counter before issuing the extra towel. The housekeeping staff actually raised her voice when talking to me. Totally unacceptable.
2) Bathroom shower room is mouldy. Looks like the waterproof seals have black moulds on them.
3) The whole floor which houses the swimming pool and gym was soaking wet. This is an accident waiting to happen, with many children running around. No one were there to periodically mop the floor. No signages were placed to warn people of the slippery floor.

Booked 2 nights for a short staycation with my wife. We drove there and reached at 11+pm. It was a long and tired drive so we just wanted to have a good rest. However, when we checked in and went up to the room, we were shocked by the condition of the room. There was a smell, the carpeted floor was damp, stains on the walls, safe without any lock. Overall the feeling was so bad, that we decided to go to the reception and ask for refund for the 2nd night and we will check out the next morning. The receptionist was nice and patient with us, she explained that the refund would take at least a month, and she was apologetic. She was the reason for the 1 star. She offered to let us see another room and if we are satisfied, we can change rooms. All in all, we changed rooms and still checked out the next morning.
The place was really okay, but it's the lack of maintenance that turned me off. Furthermore, I booked the deluxe king room, which was supposed to be the high end room!
I really hoped that the management would do something about giving the whole hotel a thorough cleaning and maintenance before letting your guests stay.

1) Front desk staff need to well trained.Upon check in she didn’t explain hotel facilities.Check in process was quick due to no deposit collected
2) Shower room was terribly dirty (mossy) , toiletries arrangements not proper.you need to ask for hairdryer etc.
3) room dusty everywhere.I guess room actually not ready to be given to guess
4) Calling Front desk & housekeeping to ask for toiletries & amenities they took longer time to answering a phone call.In fact they should know as a hotelier standard answering a phone call must be not more than 3 ringing.
5) NOISY during mid night.i guess its from live band bar down there.
6) The only good about this hotel its only the locations. Its a walking distance to attractive spot.
7) Overall, im not satisfied with this stay. The rate quite expensive due to peak season but the experiences was so terrible.

Looking at all the other review I was quite skeptical in the beginning however I think such reviews has made some huge difference . We booked for 5 days n 4 nights, basically the room was just okay although much can be done for a 4 star. The humblest request would be to have hot water for shower, I can’t imagine calling it a 4 star having only cold sometimes freezing water. Having breakfast not included we had to pay 25++ per person and managed to have decent portion of meal. The mini croissants were ♥️ Make sure you get there early for breakfast especially during long holidays as it’s quite pack n food finishes quite early. Location is very strategic as it’s quite near to the tourist attractions, walk, walk if you wanna enjoy n experience the beauty. Hotel is surrounded with lots of nearby shops such as speedmarts, eateries, and a mall connected to the hotel. Receptionist, staffs were friendly and helpful, quite welcoming . The view from the 28th floor was amazing 🤩 However it was worth spending so much to unwind
