It's very isolated and in an "out of the fray" location. I am pretty sure our room was in a new part of the building but they were careful to make it look "period appropriate". We were the only guests that night and after staying in NOLA for four nights, a nice change, we thought! But oddly we found it...

Our entire family stayed at Fort Conde Inn for my niece's wedding, and it was incredible. First off, to have a place where we could all stay, extended family and all, and simply walk downstairs for the wedding festivities, was amazing. The bridal party had their own house and the groom/groomsmen has their own place as well. The staff was...

This is such a spectacular place to stay. The rooms are done so well. They are made with comfort in mind, but designed with style and taste. The whole place seems to take you back in time with the beautiful antiques. When we visited some of the rooms were still being remodeled. The owners are very nice and see to...

Lovely room in the carriage house with ultra soft towels and soft bed. The room also had a small fridge, microwave, and Keurig. Chef Robert obviously loves his work and breakfast was wonderful. I had the omelet and my husband had the seafood Benedict with shrimp and crawfish.

This is a really nice hotel. We stayed on the second floor in the back and there was a nice bench at the top of the stairs to sit and have a drink. The room was very nice with a mix of furnishings. The bed was a little too soft for me but that is not unusual for almost any...

This is well placed in the nicest part of Mobile. The rooms are all beautiful and the carriage room we stayed in was equipped to cater for yourselves (in a small way). The reception rooms were beautiful and the decor and furnishings throughout was tasteful. The linen was delightful too but the best thing of all was the wonderful breakfasts....

Fort Conde is a beautiful Inn and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb! We were walking distance from downtown and 15 minutes from the USS Alabama battleship.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very personable and amazing, especially the chef. He prepare one of the most delicious breakfasts that I have ever had. I absolutely appreciated that he fed two of the local stray kitties gourmet food! Such a kind hearted person! The room was also very nice and well kept, we stayed...

I stayed at the Inn for 4 nights so really got a feel for the place. The first night, I stayed in one of the Carriage House rooms (#7) on the second floor which is the top floor in the Carriage House. It had a nice little kitchen area, large bathroom and good sized room with a closet and storage...

Called the hotel because I was going to be late checking in, friendly staff had key and directions to our room waiting for us. Beautiful room and super cozy bed was welcomed after a long road trip. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order depending upon each guests dietary preferences. We will definitely be back !

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Fort Conde Inn, Alabama's only 4-star, AAA four diamond rated boutique hotel and bed and breakfast, is a luxurious facility exuding the style and feel of nineteenth century Mobile. Requiring two years of meticulous workmanship, the Inn has now been restored to its original Victorian splendor. Built in 1836, the Fort Conde Inn (Hall-Ford House) is Mobile’s second oldest house and its interior and exterior finishes reflect its architectural vintage from original heart pine flooring and custom-milled stairways, moldings, and window and door trim to marble fireplace mantles, plaster walls, 12 foot ceilings and crystal chandeliers. The Fort Conde Inn, located in Mobile's historic Fort Conde Village, has recently expanded to include four newly restored hisorically certified homes: The Antunez House, the Spear-Barter House, as well as the Blakely and Gonzalez cottages. Walking into the Inn today, is like taking a step back in time to when these homes were originally built. The Inn sits on a quiet street in Fort Conde Village surrounded by Victorian homes restored with integrity and respect for their architectural heritage. It is situated adjacent to Fort Conde, a pre-revolutionary war fort built by the French in 1720 and named after the Prince of Conde, a grandson of Luis XIV. Mobile was founded by the French and the fort protected Mobile from incursions by the British. In recognition of the French heritage of this land, the rooms at the Inn have been named in French after friends and family members of the owner. ... more   less
