Called morning of 4/15/24 to check on a room for that night because we were driving from middle Georgia to middle Tennessee that day and decided to drive to Opelika for the night because of all the dangerous storms coming thru Alabama. I specifically asked about a handicap room with 2 beds and a walk-in shower because my mom is handicapped and cannot use a tub shower. I was assured my room would have a walk-in shower. When we arrived at the hotel was told none of the 2 bed rooms have walk-in showers. Only room with a walk- in shower is the handicap room with a king sized bed. Hotel only has 1 room and it was reserved. When we arrived it was too late to cancel. Floors in hotel very slippery because it was raining. Got into our room and bathroom floor was so slippery (from whatever they cleaned it with) that my mom almost fell. I went to front desk to ask that the bathroom floor be cleaned so not slippery. I ended up cleaning it myself to get as much slick off as possible. Also room very musty smelling. I would not recommend this location.

Hotel's Favourite
Two night stay for an Auburn U graduation. We were impressed. Christmas decorations in the lobby were adorable and tasteful. Staff was pleasant and welcoming. The entire hotel smelled good, even in the elevator. The complimentary hot breakfast was very good with a variety. The actual room (2 qu beds) was very nice, but we ALWAYS sanitize a room immediately upon entering. The phone was dirty, but we didn't use it. The bath tub needs to be replaced, and it looked like it had been refurbished at least once before. It's right off of 85S with nearby restaurants, stores, and gas stations (less than 10 mins).....very convenient. Keep up the great work. Your team is doing something right!

Very loud construction going on at 9 am on a Sunday morning outside our room woke us up. Housekeeping tried to barge in the room twice before 10 am when checkout is at 11! The breakfast was nothing special waffles fruit toast eggs & biscuits. The location. Is good.

We stayed here in the fall, and while the hotel wasn’t 5 star, it was a good nights sleep at a reasonable price. However, this time when we checked in we weren’t so fortunate. We’d only been in the room for an hour or so when we started seeing the roaches. I attempted to call the desk , but the phone didn’t work. We decided we didn’t want to stay in that hotel and proceeded to the front desk. When we told the desk agent we had roaches, her response was “did you mess with anything in the room?” We booked through third party, so we were also in contact with them explaining our request for refund. The help desk from Expedia called to talk with the desk agent and she hung up on him. I would not recommend.

Nasty, dated, soiled furniture….Ripped lampshades and cold lightbulbs…Desolate, dystopian surroundings…The bed was actually clean and comfortable, though. And the staff was accommodating. But overall, be prepared to manage your expectations.

9/27/2023 To: Choice Hotels/Director of CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I Eddie Houston, writing this complaint with GRAVE CONCERNS (THEFT OF PROPERTY) regarding the Comfort Inn Opelika - Auburn 811 Fox Run Pkwy., Opelika, AL, 36801, US (334) 741-9977 On 9/21 I used Booking.com and reserved a room for one night @ the Comfort Inn, Opelika. I checked in on 9/23, and checked out on 9/24, Sunday morning. I was rushing because I had to drive to Atlanta to pickup family @ the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. After 25 minutes of driving, I noticed I left my Timberland Boots (Gray) in room 101. As I was driving, I called the Comfort Inn and spoke with Kelly (Employee). I told her I just checked out of room 101 and I left my gray boots. I ask if she could go get the boots and mail them to me. Kelly explained I would have to mail Comfort Inn a box for that to happen. But at the time she couldn’t go and look, I assume maybe she had guest to deal with first. I called back a few hours later and Kelly stated there were no boots in room 101. And I 100% disagreed with her. Those gray boots were left beside the bed. On 9/25/23, around 3:35PM, I called back to the Comfort Inn and spoke with Sam (Employee). I explained the situation to Sam that I know the boots were left in room 101. Sam put me on hold and she went to check with the housekeeper (Oscar). Sam came back and stated, Oscar found the boots in room 101. But according to Sam, Oscar threw the boots away !!! Now here come the ISSUE!!! According to Sam, if a guest leave personal belonging, Comfort Inn policy is to keep the item for 30 days. That would give the guest time to claim what he/she may have left behind by mistake!!! And that make SENSE to me!!! So why would Oscar throw away brand new boots?? And not give the guest a chance to reclaim his personal item??? My simple answer is Oscar kept those boots for himself. After all, they were new!!! That was my answer and that’s what I told Sam. Sam stated she would deal with Oscar since he violated policy. Sam also stated she was conversing with her boss (Miral Patel – Owner). I told her those boots cost $185.00. Sam stated that her boss would mail me a check for my room $ 117.00. During conversing with Sam, I noticed she started speaking to me in a condescending manner, with attitude!!! As if she was BLAMING ME for trying to obtain my personal property that I left in their hotel!!! I gave Sam my address and phone number. I also ask Sam to have her boss give me a call. Well I haven’t heard from Miral Patel and I’m pretty sure I won’t be reimburse for my boots!!! I find this ALARMING on all LEVELS that a guest can book a room and get charged. In which I had no problem with!!! But 25minutes after I checked out, I noticed I left my boots and I get two CONFLICTING answers from the Comfort Inn !!! And they go AGAINST their OWN POLICY regarding lost personal items !!! I find it a shame that an INNONCENT guest get taking advantage of because Comfort Inn hire employees with SEVERE CHARACTER ISSUES!!!

The outside is being remodeled, but don't let that fool you! It's a dirty, old dump. The beds aren't half bad, and the sheets seem clean, but the pool is never cleanand the rooms aren't sanitary as far as basic housekeeping goes. Here's the best part. The chain to our toilet wasn't functioning properly. We fixed it a few times, but decided to let the front desk know it wasn't working when we were on our way out, and the front desk guy, in-between texting, and eating, got up and offered us a plunger. I truly thought he was kidding. Nope!!! He actually was about to hand me a plunger to repair the hotel room toilet, not to mention the fact that a chain can't be fixed by plunging the crap out of it. Pun intended. The "breakfast" is always stale, the pretty water container is never cold, and they won't allow extra blankets. It's a nightmare that we have been to a few times for convenience, but absolutely never again. It's quite possibly the worst Comfort Inn I've ever stayed in.

We didn’t stay because it took forever for someone to wait on us. An obese lady was sitting behind the desk and wouldn’t get up to wait on us. She just kept yelling for another girl to come wait on us. Then when she finally did she said it would be $100 Plus $150 deposit. The website says $85 so I don’t know what that was about. When we asked why the deposit she said that’s just the way it is. Then the maintenance men were at the front desk lustfully flirting with the girl. Made us so very uncomfortable. We left!!!! Owner needs to do some housecleaning to get some responsible employees. Scary place!

I was in town for graduation and stayed two nights at the Comfort Inn. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean, with the exception of the sofa. (There is a lot of construction in town, and I'm guessing workers have been sitting on it in dirty clothes.) I definitely did not want to sit on it. As I was only in the room to sleep, this didn't really bother me. I would stay here again.
