From the covered parking to the wonderful (not your usual complimentary) breakfast, our stay at The Tides was a great experience. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. I loved that the pool was partly covered in case you wanted to get out of the sun. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, eager to help in any way needed. We stayed on the fourth floor, which is where the lobby is located. We had a view of the gulf but also of the very busy highway, which was the only drawback. However, that would not prevent me from returning. I highly recommend!

spectacular service, cleanliness was awesome, breakfast and pool bar drinks and food so great and yummy. we were so pleased with the entire experience and will be back! Great clean hotel. Lots of amenities. Directly on the beach. Will definitely be staying there again. Everyone and everything was great! The only downside I would say is the long wait for the elevators other than that everything was fantastic!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Very clean. Staff was very friendly. Location was good. Beachfront near lots of food and attractions. Free breakfast was really good with plenty to choose from. Nice bar.

We had a balcony facing the beach. My wife got up early (between 6 an 6:30) every morning so she could watch the water. In the morning (and again around 6:30 to 7:30 in the evening) we could see dolphins in the water. Breakfast was very good, nice selection, rotated items every day so you weren't eating the same thing. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice. Staff was polite and helpful. Really, I have nothing negative to say about the hotel.

This was our second stay within the past year. As the first stay, this stay was awesome. From the time we arrived until our check out the entire staff was wonderful. The hotel was in tip top shape. We had a gulf view room and loved the view as the fist time. We also enjoyed the breakfast each morning. We will stay here again when we visit the area.

Third time customer, I use to enjoy The Tides Hotel. I also enjoy smoking a cigar once in awhile. 1pm May 13 2023 they had a smoking section outside away from the public on the side of the hotel. 3pm May 13 apparently the "owners" visited and saw people outside smoking in the smoking section and changed the policy to a non smoking facility. Sorry, Tides. I can no longer stay at your hotel and ill take my stay elsewhere. Might as well fill your bar with Bud Light while you are at it.

Our two-night stay was mostly ruined by a malfunctioning fire alarm system. When we first arrived, the seven-story building had only one working elevator. We waited about five minutes to take an elevator to reach the fourth floor lobby. Elevator trips to the garage and to our room with luggage had similar wait times. Staff suggested we use the stairs for faster trips (we were on the fifth floor). Around 9pm, we were in our room when suddenly, our hotel room door was opened by another guest. After going to the lobby, we found out they were checked into a totally different room number (501) but were inexplicably given our room number (515) and access to our room. When we returned to our room, our keycards no longer worked so we had to wait yet again for the one working elevator to take us back to the lobby to get new keycards. Around 1:30am, the fire alarms went off. They were activated for more than an hour. The reason? The fire alarm panel itself was malfunctioning, and they were unable to disable it. The system would turn off briefly and then start sounding again, over and over again. The temperature in the middle of the night outside was in the low 60s with a strong wind, making it especially unpleasant to be outside. There was no fire. There was no smoke. There was no emergency. It was equipment malfunction. The fire alarms were finally shut off by disconnecting the entire fire panel, disabling the system for the entire building. A staff member remarked that the hotel was now under “old school fire watch.” The system remained offline for the rest of the night and much of the next day. After the extreme disturbance, we were not able to sleep very well and were completely exhausted the next day. My wife also developed a migraine from the ear-piercing alarm and lack of sleep. That meant our next day was also ruined. We spent about three hours at the beach before returning to the hotel room, completely exhausted. We finally went to bed early and woke up the next morning to rain and storms. The malfunctioning fire alarm basically ruined our whole trip. The compensation offered by the hotel for the fire alarm malfunctioning? Absolutely nothing. No refund. No free night. No reward points. They wouldn't even waive parking charges. Despite being faulty equipment in the hotel (and not the fault of a guest or actual fire), the hotel demonstrated it did not care about the inconvenience of its guests. When I remarked about how inconvenienced we were, the manager said, “You and everyone else.” In another review, the General Manager said she "can only be thankful that the alarm sounded." That's great when there is an actual emergency. When the fire alarm panel is malfunctioning to the point that it can't even be reset and must be completely disconnected for almost an entire day, that is not acceptable.…

Chaddux, Thank you for the review regarding your recent stay. Our apologies as there seem to have been several issues of which I am aware of the elevator and the fire alarm. Unfortunately in all industries there are issues that occur that are beyond control of any individual or the establishment. Please know that the staff and any first responders work diligently to identify and correct as quickly as possible. We are trained to treat an emergency as an emergency regardless of a real emergency or malfunctioning equipment. Both scenarios deserve our utmost attention until the issue is 100% resolved by the first responders and or alarm company. Being hoteliers it is our responsibility to ensure the safety of our guests and employee's and anything beyond that is in the hands of the professionals to determine and rectify. I can only be thankful that the alarm sounded as that to us signifies an emergency and we will treat it as such as anything less would be a disservice to our patrons and staff. It is never our attention for patrons to not enjoy their stay as we always welcome the positive reviews we receive and own the negative if applicable. The hotel and staff take great pride in the ratings we have and look at every review and critic what we could have done better to continuously improve as there is always room for improvement. Your review has offered some insight to discuss to see how we could improve in the event this occurs again.
