This is our go-to hotel for getaways to the beach and again, the Island House did not disappoint. Staff is friendly but not in-your-way friendly, (they’re to help when needed); rooms and common areas clean & tidy. All the makings to just have an effortless atmosphere to relax. My only “complaint”, and not enough to downgrade a star, is the restaurant- particularly coffee. Idk if it is the Starbucks coffee stand, the restaurant or what, but we had difficulty getting coffee with our sit down breakfast. It took awhile to get our 1st cup, (and it wasn’t hot when received). The waiter never offered to refill or bring another cup. We asked for a refill but never received it. Fix your morning coffee situation please, before we return.

Hotel's Favourite
Our 6-night stay at the Island House Hotel by DoubleTree by Hilton was excellent! We selected it because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel sits directly on the beach, and all rooms have a gulf-front balcony view of the ocean. Our room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was well-maintained, and there were 6 or 7 umbrellas at the pool if you preferred to sit in the shade. The hotel staff members were friendly and professional. Another reason we chose to stay at this hotel is because of the walk-in showers. We are older and think a shower is safer to get in and out of. The food at the Cafe was delicious, as well as the free cookies offered to guests. We will definitely be back again.

Clean Hotel in a great location. The staff was extremely pleasant. Rebeca in the dining area was our favorite! Clean rooms, excellent food and loved the pool area. I’d I had to add anything to the area would be maybe a little music (nothing crazy) to enjoy around the pool.

This hotel provided an okay stay. There was nothing that really seemed special, but staff were friendly if you had a question, but did not go out of their way otherwise. I would avoid the in house restaurant, the food was not tasty and our burger was literally burnt after taking nearly 40 minutes to produce. They did refund us in all fairness, but for the prices they are charging, the food should be edible.

The remodeled facility, the staff, and the cleanliness of the accommodations were outstanding! Hannah at the front desk was very helpful and kind. The location was convenient to biking in Gulf Shores and restaurants, not to mention that it is only steps away from the beach. We look forward to returning!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Clean environment and all rooms have a view of the gulf and beach with a full balcony. There wasn’t a parking or resort fee, which made staying here a more economical option for us.

We stayed here a few years back and enjoyed it enough to go back, but were disappointed this time. We specifically chose hotels with only heated pools and they were waiting for a part to fix the heater and it never was repaired for the six days we were there. Another patron said it was the same way in 2022. Housekeeping seemed to be somewhere between Covid and post Civid policies. There was no free breakfast, no heated pool or any other perks for us to return to this hotel .

Very lovely hotel right on the beach! Great views and very clean. Restaurant inside and nice pool in the back near the beach. Towels available for use at the pools. Great location across from Shrimp Basket, Zeke's Landing and Scoops Ice Cream.

I am very disappointed with this property. I have stayed several times and they have always been great. I mistakenly booked the 27-29 nights and called to move them forward to 29-30 and was told that I would be charged $275 since it was past cancellation. I just wanted to move it one day. I know it was my mistake, but I have never done this before. I have been an HHonors member for a long time and have never had this happen. The manager would not get on the phone with me to discuss. The hotel had plenty of rooms available as I could pick from one of 50 + that were available. I did call the HHonors department at Hilton and spoke to a wonderful woman who was trying to help. She spoke with the hotel and they would not budge. Cancelled my reservation because I didn’t want them to have any more of my money. Sad we have to go to a different property because an honest mistake happened.…

Arrived late, drove straight through from Ohio. Check in/out was fine. Right off the bat, no nightlight in the bathroom. Explosive loud short flushes. Balcony is great. Beachfront rooms, sea side of hotel is protected from the wind and weather. Had great weather for 4 days, perfect, cool. Sunny. Serious negative are the paper thin walls, you can hear everything, and make out words. I am a light sleeper, it probably bothered me more than average. Room 618 was nice. There was a fire alarm issue one day, we couldn’t hear the alarm on the balcony, just really loud in the room. They figured it out, no fire thankfully. Nice stay overall. Jay at the front desk went above and beyond by getting a micro USB charger from his own car for my daughter to charge her Bluetooth speaker!…
