This place is a dump! I booked online for a beach view room with balcony, instead was assigned a side view beach room, the room #506 was not clean, hair in the shower , huge water stain in the ceiling over the air-conditioner, rusty luggage holder, chips on the furniture, rooms extremely small in size, website fail to mention room sq ft size, the double beds over power the room so it feels really tight, the curtains were dusty and dirty with stains, the sliding balcony door has dirt build up for more than 5 years ,the hotel is old and dated, they advertise free premium WI-FI, this is false, I was not able to log on using their WI- FI, the iron did not work , hotel did replace it. The shower had an awful smell coming from its drain, the (GM), Ray Stoddard, and Carmen came up to pour disinfectant into the drain on different days. The room was an enjoining room, didn't book for that, the walls are paper thin, breakfast contain high sugar diet, and omelet upon request, I decline, due to the hotel's uncleanliness, I just grab an orange or apple. The hallway carpet smelled of pets and dust, there is a huge pink stain on the wall, no fire extinguisher on floor 5. Water was leaking from the 6th floor balcony, onto my balcony railing, so I could only use the balcony less than part time of my stay. In addition, they fail to tell you prior to or during booking that the price increases daily, it is not the alleged Diamond member price shown. So, be prepared for SURPRISE prices. The GM Ray Stoddard should be arrested for how he speaks to guests with complaints. I did not experience any professionalism or reasonableness when I spoke with him. I am of a minority class and that may be why he behaved in such a disgusting manner when I brought my concerns to him. I will never stay at Sleep Inn Orange Beach again; I will also be informing my business associates and family not to stay at this Sleep Inn when they visit Orange Beach.

Response from General Manager, General Manager at Sleep Inn On The Beach
Responded 4 weeks ago
Yes, your seven day stay must have been awful! I see you followed through on your extortion demand that I either give you money back or you would post negative reviews. Looking at your other posts, I see your allegations are pretty much the same each time. They are probably no more true at the others than they were here. You made your reservation and were told the price. You signed a registration card at check in that CLEARLY had the rates right next to where you initialed. You cannot demand at check out to have the rates reduced! We are proud of our service and our cleanliness and anyone who reads these reviews will see that our guests are appreciative of it.

Hotel's Favourite
My family and I stayed here for 5 nights with our 3 small kids and grandma. We all had a great experience. We love vacationing on the beach and this hotel couldn’t have been better for that as it conveniently located on the beach. The rooms along with the entire hotel are kept very clean. The complimentary breakfast that’s offered daily is nice, but we opted to dine out most mornings because it was very crowded. The rooms are a little small, but that wasn’t a huge deal since we spent most of our time on the beach. This is an excellent spot for families. I highly recommend it!

Great location right on the beach. Nice white sands, nice pool to enjoy as well. Rooms are a bit small, but it worked out well. Continental breakfast as well as made to order omelets was to die for. Front desk and maid staff was friendly and did a great job. We were there for 5 days and it was wonderful. Only bad thing I have to say about the place is they need to severely upgrade their wifi system. It was almost as slow as the old dial up. Overall a wonderful stay and will be back again.

To be honest with you, we are complete hotel snobs. We have stayed in great hotels and very bad ones. This place was awesome! The rooms were very clean and the staff was second to none. The breakfast was a highlight of our day with the made to order omelette as well as 2 waffle makers. We enjoyed the pool and the small walk down to the ocean. The walkway is lit up if you have no sense of direction. Thank you guys a million times over for a great stay!

Had a gulf view room on the second floor, great view waking up! Very friendly and helpful staff. Spent quite a bit of time soaking up the sun on our balcony. The complimentary breakfast was a good start to our days of exploring the Alabama Gulf coast.

We stayed at the Sleep inn at Orange Beach four separate times this spring and summer for a total of 18 days. We really enjoyed our time there. Great location, staff does an excellent job. Ray (manager) works as hard as anyone. Highly recommend for the value.

The front desk was fine and the breakfast was great. The rooms were nice and the clientele there is always nice. No illegals selling hookers in the hallways and no drug addicts in the parking lot like the last couple of places I stayed. The only disappointment was that I got one of the six rooms in the whole hotel without a balcony. I have stayed there many times and I am a choice privileges member and I had never been in a room without a balcony in all those years. I do have to say that they gave me an upgrade on my last visit and a downgrade this time. But the room was nice and it was on the end so that was good so the only disappointment was no balcony. Maybe next time. Fingers crossed.

You get what you pay for. It nice because it is right in the beach and they have a nice breakfast. I have stayed here twice once with my daughter and again with my husband. The walls are so thin you can hear everything. Not so PG rated!! We won’t be back.

My husband, 2 boys and myself came down for the week and booked at the Sleep Inn as I wanted a place on the beach that was affordable! We arrived Monday evening about 6:00 and were able to check right in. I booked a balcony room and thankfully they put us in a room on the pool side which has a view of the ocean and beach! The main reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the room. It’s nice and had everything that we needed it’s just super small and the AC did not work very well. I would suggest bringing an extra fan. We had to go across the street and buy one. The room does have a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a built in cabinet where you can hang your clothes up and then had plenty of space for clothes, shoes, etc. Breakfast is from 6:30-9:30. We usually got down there around 9:00 and had no issue finding a table. They have a waffle maker, some egg muffins you can heat up, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, juices and coffee. The location is a big highlight. Across the street they have a bunch of different restaurants, a Wal-Mart, liquor store, souvenir shops and a grocery store. We walked with our double stroller a bunch and had no issues. The pool is smaller but it was never too crowded. They have some loungers with shade which was nice to sit and watch the kids and they also had a spot where they have “shareables”. Basically just a big box with floats, pool toys and noodles. There is direct access to the beach. The sand is white and felt so soft. My boys and hubby are not really beach people but I did manage to get them down there one day. We rented 2 chairs and umbrella right out front of the hotel for $35 for the day. I wish I would have thought about it and brought like a tent and some beach chairs but it was a last minute trip so my brain wasn’t fully functioning lol. Overall I think this is a nice little beach hotel. The staff was very friendly and would definitely recommend!
