Bula, Thanks so much for the great comments. The private beach picnics are one of the highlights of a stay with us. We are very lucky to be in an area that is totally unspoilt with no other commercial activities with so many private beaches to choose from. Your Yasawa family look forward to welcoming you back in April. James McCann

I've been to Fiji four times. Stayed all over: Wakaya, Namale, Kaibu, Toberua, Turtle Island, Westin Denerau, Sheraton, Intercontinental, Marriott Momi Bay and The Fjian. This was my third stay at Yasawa - this is my favorite property in Fiji and the entire South Pacific. You

Bula Vinaka, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to give us your thoughts. The uninhibited private island picnics to one of our 11 beaches are certainly a great highlight of a stay with us as is the freshly caught Yasawa lobsters. You will be pleased to know that since your stay with us we have just refinished our tennis court with a new playing service and it is looking fantastic. The ongoing work on our Bure suites is continuing and the local boys from Bukama village have started to re-thatch all of the guest rooms and beach huts. We are continuing to invest in the upgrading of the property and we look forward welcoming you back to the island again soon. Vinaka, James McCann Owner Yasawa Island Resort & Spa

This place was amazing. From the start of the booking process to the final day you were made to feel like family as nothing was too much for them to do. The resort is well maintained and every day you would walk pass the locals working and greeted with bula bula and a big smile.

Bula Thank you for your trip advisor comment. The resorts aim is to try to give guests an escape from ordinary life and their daily experiences. Our bures are large and comfortable and right on one of Fiji's finest beaches. We try to combine Fijian cultural activities with more traditional holiday experiences like private beach picnics, snorkelling, diving, fishing and lots of water sports. The interaction between guests and our staff is key to a stay with us. All of our staff come from the local village on the island and have a real sense of attachment to the resort and the guests who stay with us. Some of the key elements to a stay with us is getting away from daily life - unplugging, relaxing and recharging. Thank you giving us your feedback and we hope to see you on the island again in the future. Vinaka, James McCann Owner Yasawa Island Resort & Spa

Unique island experience with a welcoming staff. The main and surrounding beaches are beautiful and very sparsely populated. The spa is also a nice treat as the massages take place on a cantilevered deck over the sand just steps from the ocean. You do, however, need to manage

Bula Thank you or your great feedback. Being in the middle of a tropical island far from any commercial development or activity is one of our strong selling points and why people come to stay with - but like all remote tropical destinations we do experience some bugs on occasion. Luckily as we are in the driest part of Fiji it is unusual for us to get many flies & mosquitoes - it can happen though and we try to keep a good balance between spring toxic chemicals to kill them and preserving our pristine location. We do provide complimentary seafood beach dinners for all guests whenever they desire - we just ask for one days notice to ensure we have the local fisherman provide us with fresh lobsters and crabs. The resorts accepts Children under 16 during specific weeks of the year - these weeks generally coincide with Australia and New Zealand school holidays. Even during our busiest kids weeks it would be unusual to have more 15 children in the entire resort. We do provide complimentary internet in the main complex, bar and restaurant areas for guest use. in keeping with our philosophy on unwinding and unplugging we do not have internet access in the Bures. We do have available pocket wifi for guests to use if required - this is at a small charge. During times of unsettled weather we do have many cultural activities for guests including village visits, kava ceremony, Meke & Lovo, village choir on Sunday nights and church service during the day and a number of the waterspouts are still available - even though the weather may not be the best. Thank you again for your comments - we appreciate the time you took to provide your feedback. Vinaka James McCann Owner Yasawa Island Resort & Spa

➖ Property needs major renovation. The bungalow was not very clean and looked worn and tired. Unfortunately the staff is not properly trained. For example you need to ask 2-3 times before things get done. There was not enough choice from the menu especially if you don’t eat

Bula Vinaka, Thank you for your posting and I am sorry your stay with us coincided with a period of rain and bad weather. This is always very disappointing when you are on a vacation expecting sun and lots of outdoor experiences. We appreciate you taking the time to give us your thoughts on your experience. I have spoken to our Housekeeping staff and passed on to them your comments on the cleanliness. Whilst not an excuse when there is poor weather it is obviously much harder to keep the bure dry and clean with constant wet shoes and feet coming in and out of the bure during the day. We will work much harder during these times to attend to these issues. The bure you were in has just had a new outdoor deck and indoor bathroom installed, the grass thatching on the roof is only 3 months old - the furniture was also new in 2018. We do not have internet throughout the entire resort - it is one of the things that make Yasawa unique - we hope that guests can turn off the connectivity for most of their stay. We do have complimentary wifi in the main complex, bar and restaurant area for guest usage. Your correct we do not have a Gym but tremendous outdoor activities and water sports. We have no plans at the moment to put in a gym. Thanks for your suggestion about buggies - at the moment we do not feel that there isn't a requirement for Buggies at the resort - from the furthest bure to the main complex it is only about 250 metres on a paved pathway. There is only one "Road" on the island that takes guests to the airport and village from the resort - we always use our island transfer vehicle when guests travel to these locations. Unfortunately your departure from the resort coincided with a tropical depression - the airline kept us advised during the morning that they were going to be able to fly as per the departure timings - unfortunately the weather turned unexpectedly worse and the flight was cancelled for safety reasons. The cancelation was after the ferry departure time and hence that was not an option later in the day. Had it been earlier in the day we would have definitely offered you the ferry as an alternative - we did have 2 arrivals for that day as well that were also diverted. Thanks again for taking the time to give us us your feedback. Vinaka, James McCann owner Yasawa Island Resort & Spa

Bula Chris, Thank you for your posting. My wife and I are not always on the island but when we are we do try hard to meet as many guests as we can. We do have a great team that run the resort on a daily basis and they are the real reason we have so many return guests. Vinaka, James MCCann Owner

Bula, Thanks for your question. I am not sure how long ago you stayed with us - but we have bene doing constant updating over the past few years. New additions include refurbished bathrooms, new lampshades, new throw cushions, Bose bluetooth stereos, nespresso machines, New lounger and chair. We have also renovated but the main pool deck and just installed a new tennis court playing surface. We are also just starting to re-thatch all the bures and also started to do the outdoor decks on the bure suites. It is a constant ongoing process. I hope we can welcome you back to the resort.
