If you want luxury and pampering, this is not for you; if you want a functional place to stay that is clean, safe, spacious and good value then this is for you, Not a conventional hotel, but with all the facilities, and more, that most people would need. This is an apartment with a large living room, double and single...

I have stayed in Metropark few times. THE GOODS: - We chose this place because it is very well located (close to a subway station) and it´s a good place for a family. That subway line takes you almost everywhere in Shanghai. Very convenient. - You can even walk to a famous temple (about 20 minutes) and a nice area...

From the moment I arrived (at 6am) I felt most welcome. The apartment was spacious, clean and with modern decor. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. A particular thank-you to Li Dong for his help and he has made my journey most memorable. If you want a home-away-from-home I can highly recommend this hotel, it is central and...

I had the chance to stay here for 3 days on a business trip. For the fun of it I took the Metro from the Shanghai airport and got down at Jiangsu Rd. The hotel was less than 10 minutes walk from the Metro station. The staff at the front desk were friendly but may not be able to speak...

We stayed for 7 days at this hotel which was booked by our travel agent. Its a two-room apartments with one bath and kitchen and washing machine and refrigerator. Walking distance to metro at Jiangsu Rd for about 10 mins. Quite a nice place because it is less congested.

The hotel is definitely dated, but the room size makes up for this well and truly. The rooms are huge, very comfortable and with all the amenities you require: washing machine, dryer etc. Great for business travellers who are sick of hotels. The Italian restaurant in the lobby is sensational.

I have been at Metropark several times. Location is very good, central and 5 min walk from a subway station and the restaurant on the 1st floor (Da Marco) is one of the best in Shanghai, always packed (book in advance) I have been there with the family (wife and 2 babies), and also for work with colleagues. We usually...

If you want to stay for a long time or just want a home feeling it's great. Apartments are really big and clean. 2 Bedrooms, living room, all equipped kitchen and utensils are free. Service is ok and you can use a complete gym with pool for free.

We were disappointed with Metropark given what we paid. We had the two room apartment. The rooms are nice and clean, but little things matter. For instance, there is a kitchen, but we had to pay a 30 RMB fee for any cutlery, dishes, and pots. We've never paid for this at any other service apt. The English level of...

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.

“If you are trying to scape from the pollution and the bad smell, check in in one of the no-smoking apartments. There is a VERY good restaurant (Da Marco) in the first floor. If you go (without kids) and the restaurant is full and have you seat in the bar while you wait, they will give you little snack (pizza) until your table is ready... Yummy!!!”
