Its most ideal for those who wish to see the 1000 Shanghai Rolex Master TENNIS tournament as one can walk to the stadium. Modern and clean room. Buffet breakfast was sufficient. Wifi only at the lobby area.
It is 30 min from closest train station so if you are not driving, you need a taxi to be mobile.
If you are a non Chinese speaking traveller, do PRINT out the name of places in chinese characters to show to taxi drivers. Makes life easier. We found English is not as widely spoken as we expected. Taxi are metered.

This is a good hotel, more of a resort. The hotel is at the outskirt of Shanghai, so is very calm and quite. The rooms are good. But the lighting in the room needs attention (too low). The temperature control also needs to be improved. The main problem is that, there is no shop near the hotel. So, if you need to buy just some basic things, you need to go to a nearby shop around 3 km from the hotel. Don't expect the receptionist to speak or understand good English. I don't find any reason to stay in the hotel if someone need to stay in that specific area. But, if you NEED TO STAY in that area or you just need some relax time - then OK, it may be the hotel for you.

Stayed at this hotel with my wife on our honeymoon. It was fantastic. It takes a while to get to as the closest Metro station is about 20 minutes away by taxi but the cost of the ride was about 20 yuan so not too bad. The hotel grounds are sizable. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke English. The room was impressive with free wi-fi and beautiful decor. The view from the room balcony was gorgeous and the air-conditioning was a god-send in September. The pool was indoors and of a good length. The breakfast buffet was varied, tasty and provided a great start for travelling and sight-seeing. All in all, it was a fantastic hotel and the only black mark against our stay was that the gym was closed for maintenance.

Visually this hotel looks amazing from the out side but we arrived late didn't realise its an hour and half taxi ride from the centre of down town Shanghai. Check in staff did not speak any English which made it difficult. We asked if we could get a drink and something to eat to be told we could yet the restaurant was all closed and the bar had also been closed. We tried room service only to be advised that everything we wanted was not available the choice was dumplings or noodles.
When I got to my room, the room was boiling hot, so I tried to get air conditioning working, but it was very poor! Did I mention that people in the front desk can barely say a couple of words in English and were not helpful or friendly. The mattress in the bedroom was non existent it appeared to be a box base with a mattress cover or protector no mattress at all so not very comfortable. The room is well designed, large but poorly cleaned, dark and uninviting. The breakfast doesn't have many options and offers mostly Chinese food. In my opinion, the hotel and the facilities are quite poor when you take into account that it is currently rated 4 star. By the way the wifi only works in the reception area.

If you love tennis and intend to watch the Shanghai Masters Tournament and spend your whole day at Qi Zhong Stadium, this hotel is the best choice considering its location, just 15 minutes walking distance from the stadium. However you can have a lot of disappointments. When I arrived at night, the room was boiling hot, so I tried to turn on the ar conditioning, when I figure out that it wasn't working, after complaining with the front desk the solution which the manager came up was "open your window". Really?!?! To not mention that people in the front desk can barely say a couple of words in English and the mattress was as comfortable as the one owned by Fred Flintstone. The room is well designed but poorly cleaned, it is common to find different kinds of insects inside of your room. The breakfast doesn't have many options and offers mostly Chinese food. In my opinion, the hotel is quite poor when you take into account that it is rated 4 star.
