This hostel had very helpful reception, and were able to translate for us. The nearest metro station is less than a 5 minute walk, and The People's Park is around a 10 minute walk. The dormitory that we stayed in had large lockers, and easy access to top bunks. I only wish there was a water closet separate to the...

My partner and I stayed in a private double room two nights when we arrived in Shanghai and then one night before we left for Pu dong airport two weeks later. Both rooms were clean and perfect for what we needed. Check in was easy and strait forward, they were happy to hold our luggage for us before and after...

On our travels of china me and my husband have encountered a huge variety of hostels/hotels and must admit that you can't judge. The hostel is more like a hotel and nicer than some I've stayed in the UK. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was good and spacious and extremely clean! With a wet room shower cubicle...

This was a good place to stay, with a few shortcomings such as small room, almost transparent glasses of the bathroom in twin room, and was not a great street for International crowd. We just stayed here for one day and then moved out to another one that was much better.

I have stayed here multiple times and will again. The private rooms are small but comfortable and clean, the dorm rooms are spacious and cozy. The restaurant on the main floor serves good affordable food, and the bar upstairs is a great place to unwind in the evening or enjoy coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The location is hard to...

It was clean and the location was good. The shower and toilet are in the room in a glass bubble, which is a little strange. The restaurant downstairs is pretty good, loved their dumplings! The hot pot restaurant next door is also great. We didn't know how such a hotpot worked, so we just asked a few locals who were...

The best thing about this hotel is its location. its in the middle of everything in shanghai and subway is just a stone throw away While the room and bathroom is clean enough , the constant noise (some kind of advertisement) from the shop across the street is very disturbing ... luckily they stopped at night the rooftop bar and...

I've stayed for 2 nights in a 4-bed dormitory. The room was clean, but a little run down. The dorm has its own bathroom en-suite, so there are only 4 people using it. The only point for improvement were the mattresses, they were very thin, even for Chinese standards. Location is A+, walking distance to the Bund, and 1 minute...

The perfect location - makes Shanghai a walkable city! All you need for a short visit: very clean (small) room, comfy bed and private bathroom. They also offer you a free beer at the roof terrace bar :)

Hostel located about 20 minutes walk from the Shanghai Bund. Easily accessible to Subway system and within an area with lots of affordable food. I had a private room which was satisfactory, but the air-conditioning would constantly turn on and off in the middle of the night. Hostel bar was great for meeting people and very fun at night! Staff...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
