Really enjoyed my stay here, frontline staff were very professional and polite! The cleaner lady was very very caring and friendly as well, always tops up our mineral water in the room frequently and cleans it very well. I was very very pleased with the room and it was a good size. The journey to central area of shanghai is abit far, metro is conveniently located. Would recommend this place if you have no fuss with regards to transport time. Hotel breakfast everyday was great because they have a good variety’ overall very satisfied ☺️

Typical Chinese HIE but the breakfast has improved since I stayed at one before Covid. Staff can not speak English but all carry personal translators, another big improvement.
25 minutes from PVG late at night and 30 minutes to SHA early in the morning. Restaurants and shopping nearby.

Very practical hotel, half way between the airport and the city centre and only a 10 minute walk from the metro. Big comfortable rooms, friendly staff although language can be a problem and a breakfast to set you up for the day. Overall great value for money - also seems family friendly.

Hotel was excellent, and a reasonable price. Perfect for our short stay in Shanghai. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of both Chinese and Western dishes, and also freshly made eggs and also noodles to order. Much higher quality than a standard Holiday Inn Express, and you even see the robot staff there too. Concierge staff were friendly and helpful. Some don't speak much English but they have a professional voice translator app they use so it worked perfectly (we found many locals in Shanghai don't speak English). As platinum members, we were automatically upgraded. Room was great, spacious, very clean and looked new. Lots of seating. Walk in shower was nice. Beds are firm, which my research told me that is the standard in China like in many countries. Also, my research told me that it is the norm for locals to smoke in the rooms even if it is a non-smoking room so if your non-smoking room smells like smoke a little, it's not the hotel's fault.
Convenient location if you don't want to spend a lot on hotels near The Bund. It is a few minutes walk from the metro (take Green Line 2 from Pudong Airport straight to Tangzhen station), turn right from the station and walk straight down that road for a few minutes (don't cross the road) over the walking bridge - you should see the blue and yellow lights of the tall hotel building at night. Right outside the station is an outside plaza with lots of stores and connivence stores to pick up water and snacks. Metro cost from airport to this station is around only $1 USD pp and fro this station to People's Square is another $1 USD pp.

Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Tangzhen was an awesome place for overnight stay and catching up next day flight at Pudong International Airport. It was clean, quiet, safe, with a lot of shopping and dining options nearby. Very close to subway station with direct access to Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station. The only downside was that the room wasn't spacious.

We stayed here for a few nights in late December / early January. We would consider staying here again.
Pros: - Free laundry (but expect a lineup – we had to do it in the middle of the night to avoid waiting). - Lots of options at breakfast. - Free water and N95s at the front desk.
Cons: - Poor allergen labelling at the breakfast – things were marked gluten free when they obviously were not, e.g. onion rings. - Difficulties in communication. Expedia said the staff are “multilingual”, including English, but no one we encountered at the front desk could speak any English. They had to use a translation device for every question. It worked.
All in all, we would consider staying here again. Good location, right near the metro.

Good IHG elite stauts recognition, upgraded room, nice breakfast, good location for this area, just few min from subway station. Breakfast was good for this brand. Good hotel option to serve your basic needs.
