I stayed for 2 nights in October 2016 and I had private room with toilet. Everything was really clean and working well. The staff were helpful and guy at the reception was helpful and carried my luggage downstairs cause there was power blackout when I was leaving so thank you for that, really nice of you! Overall hostel was quiet...

Stayed in this hostel in a weekend Shanghai at the end of August. Had a pleasant stay here! Rooms were not that big, but everything was clean! In the morning you are able to buy breakfast and coffee for a small amount of money. Personnel was friendly and helped us with our questions. Further, the hostel has a terrace on...

The point, is the location. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping street (Nanjing Road) and a famous waterfront The Bund. I booked twin room with private bathroom, on arrival they upgraded it to the family room. The room was very spacious with nice view. Friendly stuff, willing to answer any question. Community area kept in good style, for relax you...

The strongest argument for choosing this hostel is the location. Walking distance to everything important such as restaurants, bars and Shanghais biggest shopping streets. The hostel itself is ok but not great. A very busy hostel so easy for solo travelers to make new friends.

Great location, close to the Bund waterfront. We must mention that the young guys behind the reception were incredibly helpful in retrieving one of our mobile phones that we left in a train station and had it posted to us from a coffee shop in Xi'an. Not many places people would do that... On the downside, it's pretty run-down. So...

The hostel is very well located, close to the subway station, the pedestrian street and 15min walk from the bund. The staff spoke very good English, but if you wanted a map of the city you had to buy it and not many tips were given. The room is very small, bed is confortable and it was not cleaned during...

Our room for three was disappointing. It was cramped, the air-conditioning could not cope with the heat and the plastic curtains were tacky (IMO). However, I did get a glimpse of the double rooms, and they looked very neat. The common living areas were homely and staff friendly and helpful. Wifi was first class.

We arrived early in the morning around 8am due to early flight schedule and thanks to the helpful hostel frontdesk who allowed us to check in early. We booked a family room for 2 nights, the room has a double bed and a tatami single bed. There is a bathroom too. The the room is a bit small for 3...

Quiet and peaceful stay in this beautiful hostel. The view from the 16 th floor is superb. The hostel is conveniently located near the Metro Line 2 and allows to visit the city without too much difficulty. The staff is very nice.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
