Marriott City Centre may be one of the perfect locations for a visit to Shanghai. Ask for a room facing the city skyline - you won't be disappointed. The hotel is also a short walk from the Peoples Park and Shanghai Museum, and adjacent to the Nanjing Pedestrian Mall. What a city! And what a Hotel! Everything was perfect -...

Dear John H, Thank you for your most wonderful review and for staying at our hotel while visiting Shanghai. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the views from the upper floors. After a very long flight to get to Shanghai, it was very nice to be warmly greeted and quickly checked into my room. The staff was very accommodating, and made my first stay in Shanghai a great one. If traveling to Shanghai, I would definitely recommend the Marriott Hotel City Center.

A very good jumping point to explore shanghai. Nanjing pedestrian street is just a block away for those who love to shop and feel the vibrancy of shanghai. Walking distance to the bund too. Subway people square station is just a road away. Room is quite spacious. I like the bathroom layout and it's bathroom amenities - smell is good....

Service amazing. While I was checking in they had a staff member bring us water and told my wife everywhere to go, how to get there, where pharmacy was, open and closing times, etc. When we got to our room I couldn't believe how much info she had. Executive level floor at this hotel is very worth it. Very good...

Stayed for a week. One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Centrally located that many of the tourist attraction were walking district. Had paid extra for the executive lounge. However, the staff at breakfast came across as very rude. A lot of the time as soon as we walked in we were attacked for our room number.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
