This hotel is super charming and provides a taste of old Shanghai. My room is tastefully decorated, spacious, and has a nice large bathroom with clawfoot tub. The breakfast is also quite satisfying with many choices and strong coffee! It's a great hotel at a great value.

Aaron's House is a beautiful small boutique hotel in a great location. The hotel decor is beautiful with a gorgeous grand staircase (along with an elevator). Our room was extremely large. There is a safe in the room and wifi at the hotel. The bathroom had both a bathtub and a separate rain-shower stall. There are many restaurants in the...

As business travel always involves an element of surprise when it comes to the hotel, I was taking the taxi from the airport to the hotel ready for anything. However, even with a mindset like that, I was not prepared for what Aaron's House had to offer. The rooms are NOTHING like you could expect from a hotel in Shanghai...

We just moved out of Shanghai to Suzhou and I had to go back for a few days for an exhibition. I booked this place based on the proximity to Dashijie metro station and the price. It's in a great location just off Xizang Nan Lu not far from People's square and a short taxi ride to Xintandi. I would...

Now that chinese prices have reached european ones, this changes any criteria for comparison and judgement. The location is very good and the atmosphere is old style which ia always appreciated by european travellers. The rooms are clean and the personnel, although not very fluent with English, was very kind and prompt. However, 120 euro per night prevents me from...

I chose this hotel solely because of its proximity to where I worked, and was surprised to find it totally different from the typical modern hotels in Shanghai. It’s a rather small hotel adapted from an old, low-rise building in a busy commercial district right at the city center. There’s no conspicuous sign of the hotel but look for #507...

The situation is perfect : close to People's Square, in a busy street, full of shops, restaurants, supermarkets.. You can easily visit the whole Huangpu district by foot ! The hotel itself is really amazing : rooms are really huge, the beds highly comfortable, the decoration is beautiful, the bathroom unbelievable and the staff is perfect ! Helpful and always...

Excellent solution for a nice stay in people square, whether your are touring the city or welcoming some family/friends for a short stay. The place has a great vibe to it and offers a great qualitative solution if you are looking for very nice accommodations within the center (easy walking reach to people Square, Yu Yuan garden, nanjing Lu, the...

Its quite an experience to stay in this hotel. The rooms are all newly decorated. I was lucky to get upgraded to a suite room and it was huge. classic decor, huge and comfortable bed. common areas are also well kept with a general feel of being in a mid 19th century Shanghai mansion. over all an excellent hotel.

Excellent propriety just of Huaihai Road one of the main roads in Shanghai. Old European apartment building renovated but still keeping the 30's charm. Close to Metro, shops, restaurant. It was a bit of a misunderstanding related to the room however Peter at the reception was very kind and professional and resolved the issue in a very satisfactory way. The...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
