Stayed 4 nights in November 2016. Room is spacious with decent decoration and all fittings working in very good conditions. Comfortable bed and excellent view to the Shanghai bund especially at night time when city high rise lights turned on. Very good buffet breakfast in the morning hours but need to arrive early otherwise seats are filled up fast as...

With a small group we started our China holiday in this hotel. Nice and comfortable after a long flight. Choose a room with partly bund / river view. The rooms are comfortable, some of the staff speak English and the service, including the the guy who arranges the taxi's is good.

The hotel is good, the staff is really kind and polite but, the breakfast is a 100% Chinese. Really disappointed. But the view is AMAZING! In front of The Bund! The price is fair too and the rooms are really big!

Stayed three nights in the Hotel during a private trip to Shanghai. The South China Harbor is ideally located at the Bund, with some great views of Pudong. We had a nice room on floor 25. Rooms were well equipped, clean and functional. Service and interactions with the Hotel staff went flawless. Food quality in the restaurant also good. Overall...

The hotel has an excellent location. You can walk to downtown cool. Breakfast was excellent in the higher floor of the hotel with stunning views of the river. The only comment is slower concierge service.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during our two week trip around China. We had a pleasant stay here, although it has to be said that the front desk staff could be more polite and more efficient. POSITIVES: - large nicely decorated rooms. We asked for a city view room and we were located on the 25th floor...

Nice location, just a few minutes walk from the bund. If you get a room on the higher floors, you'll get a very nice view. Rooms are non smoking but smell like cigarette. There is even a vase in the bedroom in which visitor put their cigarettes... Service is very poor. We had booked a double room with extra bed...

I stayed in a refurbished room. It was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom has a very modern style and it was very clean. There is also a swimming pool and a fitness center there. The breakfast is included and offers a good combination of western and asian types of breakfasts. The restaurant also offers a great view of Shanghai....

If you are visiting Shanghai this is the best place to stay. Hotel was great and very friendly in approach. The guys have got some breath taking views in most rooms and have a decent breakfast for customers. You can even hire a cycle and go around town. Just awesome!

Staying in Hongkou

Neighbourhood Profile
Hongkou
History oozes out of every fiber of the city, but Hongkou is a particularly notable neighborhood. Shanghai was a safe haven for about 20,000 Jews during the Second World War, and traces of this heritage can still be found in buildings and park monuments. Historic foreign relations aside, this neighborhood throws you into traditional Shanghainese life without taking you too far away from the city center. Some of the city’s best-preserved, ancient longtangs (laneway communities) and shikumen (Shanghainese lanehouses) are still in use as actual residences here. If you like to be surrounded by local faces, Hongkou is a great area to spend your time in. The football stadium, Duolun Lu and the North Bund area await should you need some entertainment.
