Decent sized double room, the hotel is an average chain without excelling at anything. You just sort of get lost in its size.
Approximately 15 minutes walk to The Bund and nearly 10 minutes walk from Peoples Square Metro.
Came into Shanghai for a flying business trip, and stayed at short notice at the Howard Johnson. The rooms were a great size with a lounge room off the bedroom. The rooms were very comfortable and roomy. The power plugs were ahead to find and...More
Not the friendliest place I have stayed and smiles among the Reception and bar staff are rare. That said the rooms are generally ok but plug sockets hanging off the wall are of concern. The Breakfast was very nice and the young staff were a...More

People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and
work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
