I've stayed at the Ruitai Hotel about 4 times now and I keep coming back because it's a pretty solid Chinese style hotel with a lot of really convenient features. I live in a nearby city and I usually have to stay the night in...More

This room was in a great location and the hotel staff were super nice. However, the room was run down and had an odd smell. For the price range, I have stayed in cleaner hotels that have cost the same.

The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same
quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
