It's not perfect but the location is. It is situated between two metro stops. You can easily catch the metro to the airport and it takes about an hour and a half and costs about 10RMB - and it's about 1 hour by taxi and about 200RMB.

On the contrary to reviews, I felt this was a excellent value for money. Stayed 5 nights booked for a room with no view got an upgrade to a partial view room. Automatic Currency exchange machine in the lobby is excellent thing to save time and secure transactions. Floor was shared by a Saloon, Stylist,Designer but at no point intruding...

We arrived Shanghai around 4am. There's a desk near the entrance but the staff is sleeping and we couldn't wake him up. we thought that The reception was empty but we were surprised that there were actually receptionists there behind the counter sleeping. They woke up when they heard us. It was a bit hard to communicate with the staff...

THE GOOD: 1. Location : a) 5 mins' walk to Exit 14 of People's Sq Metro station. For those travelling by train to & from airport, this convenience means quite a bit of $avings! Going to places during the trip via the metro was equally easy with this good proximity. But do note Shanghai metro doesn't seem too handicap, elderly,...

Spacious room, decor a bit faded, but comfortable bed and as the hotel is so central it was a great base to come and go from. It is about 2 mins walk from main shopping area, 5 mins walk from 2 underground stations so easy to get around the rest of the city. Good coffee shops nearby and the restaurant...

First of all, this hotel looks great in pics, but beware, it is not what it seems. If you are a non smoker and don't like cigarettes DO NOT GO HERE. This is a smoking hotel, every room. The rooms smell gross disgusting full of smoke. The washrooms have a vent system that connects with other rooms, and it was...

The hotel is pretty good for the price paid. It is located just 5 minuts walking from People's Square and 15 minutes walking from the Bund. The rooms are ok, maybe a little bit dark if they are located in the inner part of the building. The breakfast is good but quite expensive (50¥). I would stay at this hotel...

The hotel definatly needs some refurbishing and the room's lighting was bad. The staff was friendly and helpful except for one guy at the concierge counter that was unfriendly. The money exchanging machine in the lobby is a jackpot. Also, the location is great.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
