I stayed here by myself on business in March 2012 for one night. As the title says, I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I would probably give it five stars for the building/room/location, and three for the service/staff interactions. The good: -Great views -Modern and clean room: bathroom design a good blend of stylish and user-friendly -Lots of complientary...

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about this hotel, but for the price range one can find better in Shanghai. We stayed in a Junior suite, aside from dirty windows (which slightly obscured the view) the service was good. It's a reliable hotel, so for first timers its definitely a good place to stay. It's safe and predictable;...

This was our last stop in China before we returned home. Previously, we had stayed at modern, luxurious, detailed-oriented hotels and was expecting the same at Le Royal Meridien. Unfortunately, it fell a bit short. There were a lot of little things that were disappointing/annoying. Would've given it 3 1/2 stars if it was possible. I'll start off with the...

I chose this among the various star wood properties in this city based on the excellent location and the proximity of this gem of a hotel. I booked a club room which promised me a higher floor so that I can have a superb view of the city and that was delivered to perfection. Plus I can access the club...

We recently tried brunch at this establishment for the first time. We have lived in Shanghai for the last 5 years and have heard great reviews about this venue, so decided to try it. The French champagne was served cold and glasses were frequently replenished by attentive wait staff. For those more game, you can be administered 'shots' of alcoholic...

This was my second stay at this hotel. This experience was consistent with my stay 9 months ago. The hotel has modern comfortable rooms. I was in a junior suite this time which was a little larger than a standard room. The suite has a large flat screen TV. The rooms are very quiet. My room was near the elevators...

The Hotel was booked by IBM for a conference in Feb, 2012. I was given the 49th floor...with magnificent view, the room was great..comfortable. The hotel was centrally located. The staff was well mannered and friendly. But the only drawback was the food, for a vegetarian like me, it is difficult to survive more than a day!

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
