Clean, open-air motel with small rooms and an open-air kitchen in flowery back yard. Short walk to Alajuela's popular main square, market, and cafes and restaurants. We arrived there with the Safe Passage service that arranges bus travel in Costa Rica (they use Paradise for the Home Base service, costaricabustickets.com), which we also recommend for independent-minded travelers who are visiting...

I stayed here on the first night and last night of my trip to Costa Rica. The hostel is run by a mother and daughter who were really nice. I used the Home Base service of A Safe Passage at costaricabustickets.com and this was the hotel I was brought to. It was really close the the airport and had everything...

much better, then anything in San Jose, that you can get for this price. Just a few minutes to the airport, so this place is perfect for the first or last night. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, thats all we need here ;-)

~Oct 2011 After a brief stay at Cala Inn I was asked to relocate due to overbooking bringing me here to the Paradise Hotel. Located just a few blocks north of central Alajuela. The place is small, maybe consisting of 10 or so rooms, some with ensuite and others with shared facilities. Being here during the green(wet) season vacancies are...

Our room had no window and we heard everything from the lobby, but it was relatively clean. Of course you may not look accurate in costa rica hotels. You don´t get a key from the housedoor, evereytime when you come and go you have to ring. Sometimes there is no electricity for some hours (this seems to be normal in...

We stayed 3 nights here! It was splendid, peaceful, yet close to everything we wanted for the last few nights in Costa Rica. It was safe, secure and the rooms are clean. The staff was warm, friendly and welcoming. They made us feel right at home...

We stayed here a night before a flight the next morning out of San Jose International Airport. It’s more of a guest house than a hotel, with very pleasant and comfortable rooms, a light breakfast included consisting of coffee or tea, toast and jam, and a fresh fruit salad, and with seating and hammocks in the garden out back and...

We got bumped by our original hotel Casa Tago and were referred here. Tago was nice and paid for the hotel transfer taxi. I agree with the Carli review. Jalapenos is a good restaurant around the corner. The staff here was great. We liked the town instead of BIG San Jose. There was no AC but the fan was fine...

We were sent here by another hotel when our flight to the Osa peninsula was cancelled. The room was $10 cheaper than the other hotel, and much nicer. The reception were very professional, and helped me make calls regarding our cancelled flight, and even came to bring me the phone when someone called me back. The room was around the...
